On June 27, WCBS-FM 101.1 will switch its radio format from classic hits back to oldies beginning at 6:00 am, bring back the original “New York’s Oldies Station” moniker, hire “Shotgun Tom” Kelly as its weekday morning DJ, hire Phlash Phelps as its weekday afternoon DJ and bring back its familiar faces in weeknight DJ Pat St. John and weekend DJ Cousin Brucie as part of its 50th anniversary, so WCBS-FM will play all our favorite oldies from the 50s, 60s and 70s from rock and roll to doo-wop to Motown to the British Invasion to folk rock to garage rock to frat rock to psychedelic rock to soft rock to disco beginning with “Rock Around the Clock” by Bill Haley & His Comets.
