Or just buy it in gallon jugs and put it in a regular spray bottle so you have infinite control over the amount and also the size and shape of the stream. Fine narrow stream for pinpoint placement or wide misting stream if you need to cover a large area. Also about 5x cheaper per gallon that way.

When I asked my wife what she thought of the new nozzle design of WD-40 I got stupid look back. :( But yes, I can't fathom why would change the design of one of the most used spray bottels in the world to such a shit solution. Also the hinge is horrible because the seal is shit and after a while it starts leaking everywhere. Where is your webshop where I can order these things?

For the running out of propellant problem, I use a rubber tipped blow nozzle and put a hunk of rod the right length in it so you push down on the plastic stem of the can just as the rubber seals it and give it a shot of compressor air (don't go hog wild; I have never blown up a can but...)

Your always thinking outside the box, Perfect! Its a total conspiracy, I was so frustrated that "they" "forced" me to purchase the "gallon containers" to use mini-funnels that "spill everywhere" for my old-time dimple oiling cans. I did feel slightly vindicated since I purchased the dimple oiling cans new, over forty years ago. Your micro-dose dispenser is way more convenient for that liquid gold fish-oil.

While your solution is elegant and beautiful, I have found that the "Industrial Size" WD40 cans work pretty well for me. Instead of the stupid leaky flip top, they have an old school top with a detachable straw. Straw snaps into the lid, when I want to use it, I can just pop the top off and spray for a mist, or I can shove the straw in the tip (with the lid still snapped to it) and spray away. Works pretty well for me, but I probably don't grab the can as often as some of you guys so YMMV.

The worst is when the can falls off the table and the nib breaks off - then you're just hosed and the can is useless unless you drill a hole and let all the pressure out and then just manually dribble the stuff out through the hole.
