Straight axles are perfect for your area in Utah, larger smoother profile solid rocks. Portals shine where the terrain is made up of smaller separate rocks like in river beds.

I’m happy that you turned your passion into your job Logan; your driving is really top notch. So I am going servo on axel, and I’m wondering why you went the other way with your Capra? As a side note, we are on vacation and are driving on the opposite side of the rode so all your references to drivers and passengers side got me a bit confused.

I’m mostly a Predator guy, but I’m in Ohio and we’ve got mostly slick river rock, so having that extra soft bite really helps around here! Regardless of the compound… I’m with ya on the Krawler’s! Used to be a Hyrax guy for every rig, but after seeing the Krawler’s in action, I got a set for my C2 Ecto and never looked back. Couldn’t believe how well they did head to head with the Hyrax, plus they look WAY better!

Should try flat irons if you like krawlers
@drz_rc
Жыл бұрын
@@theoalbert897 I don’t think I’ll be giving those a shot any time soon, unless something serious happens. My buddy has a set, we run comparable rigs, and the Flat Irons just don’t seem to do quite as well where we’re running. They do have an attractive tread pattern, but unless I see something around here in person that does better than what I’ve got, I’ll be sticking with my Krawler’s. They are just absolutely decimating the competition, here on my course at least. We’ll see if that changes at our local comp this coming weekend or not, but I’m pretty sure I know how they will stack up against each other.

I much prefer a flat skid over an angled or shaped skid as I find those tend to slide the rig in unpredictable ways you don’t want or expect.

yo logan great vid as always!!!! I have a question for you that I have asked a few people and they seem not to know the answer or just don't want to tell me so here goes... due to watching your vids I have gotten back into RC's before I was a bash this is the first rock crawler trail truck I have ever had and I ended up not wanting to spend a lot of money spent some time looking around and picked up the base camp 10.3. the pan hard link has a really hard time staying on the axel a little bump makes it come off, is there away to run the truck without the pan hard. I have tried googling it and all that comes up is how to fix it nothing about removing all together and the local hobby shop guys said there not sure. please help if you know if not I understand. thanks dude
@jasonbecker4997
Жыл бұрын
Without the panhard you will have to four link the front axle. If you do that with the chassis mounted servo it’s going to bump steer like crazy. So you would want to try to mount the servo on the axle. Short answer is it “can” be done, but it’s going to be a whole lot of bs to make it work. You will be way better off making the panhard work.

There must be a servo in axle conversion for the axles on the basecamp? It was hard to find one I did on my element. But most of time servo in axle means more power...idk why wdw the man!! For sure I’m not worthy goes 3 link...

But isn’t the CMS raising the center of gravity and adding more sprung weight to the truck? Portal’s have an advantage over straight axles at my local comp spots. There’s just certain areas where portals will clear rocks and the straight axles get hung up. Guess it all comes down to the terrain and what types of rocks you crawl on.
@shaynejenkins446

This is what happens when you buy multiple capra's just for the axles to build other projects. Logan just found a way to make the extra capra chassis different and useful using his mod and an Axial axle kit.
@WickedRC

@@shaynejenkins446 I get that. I have a Capra axle build too. What I don’t understand is why you would 3 link the front and put the servo on the chassis.
