Serious question: since you framed the outside, covered with plywood and wrapped, and framed inside, why were the containers needed?

I love your ideas & I think framing & insulating the exterior is super smart - great r value without sacrificing a lot of square footage. I plan to do the same if I ever get around to building a container home!

thanks much my friend!!! I think we have at least a couple people out there like yourself. but unfortunately we have some professional keyboard warriors that know more about construction than all the pros working on our place. thanks for the sub! new vid out by nov. 18th, the exterior turned out amazing.

What's the point of the container if you're using the same amount of materials?
@EddiTaru

It's to waste as much material as possible.

What is the point of the containers? You seem to be covering them inside and out so I don't understand why they are there?
@SunfishBudget
Жыл бұрын
They are exposed on the inside not externally, in middle section of the house it is stick frame with no containers. The containers give the house lots of strength. For example the containers give us the ability to have the cantilever in the back of the house, along with the strength to have a roof top patio with a hot tub.

“We’re going to be posting more frequently”.. Us 5 months later: 😥
@printedlayers3d

they seem to have clearly lost interest in their channel. But instead of being honest with their subscribers they are ignoring. Wouldnt have taken much for them to post something in the 'community' tab or release a 5 minute video explaining the 5 month delay in video. The longer they hold out they lose subscribers. If they have outside things that are pulling them away, things can happen. But there should be some communication and or little updates. I've been partly enjoying the series watching the build but I'm out now. 5 months with ZERO communication

While this is an awesome looking home, and I really like it, and while you guys are "trying" to justify why you even used containers, and calling all of your watchers "loosers" assuming that everyone who comments is a complete looser, I still don't get it why containers ever even used in this project? You end up with two framed walls (inside and outside) and for some reason there is a container inside the wall. Like for what? To make the house stronger? What is the point? Can someone explain please?
@SunfishBudget

the only losers are the people that waste their time commenting on something they see on youtube that they don't like. maybe i'm old school but if i don't like what someone says or does I just don't watch it. grandma always said "you catch more bees with honey than vinegar". one of the bigger problems with the world everyone wants to be heard, and very few actually take risks and do something!!!!!
@EddiTaru

@@SunfishBudget Not sure how what your gramma said to you has anything to do with what I said but okay. Most people are afraid to tell you the truth that you're wasting your life away trying to build a house using the wrong materials. As someone who has years of experience in Architecture, Engineering, and construction field, I must tell you that this house isn't done correctly. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. And please don't automatically assume that every person who comments on your videos are "loser" that have nothing better to do. people are trying to help you. Perhaps help you stop wasting materials before you dump too much money into this project and will never be able to get your money back if you were to resell the house. Just something to think about. Don't be upset. Cheers.
