Okay, Amp Man (Rich) has been defeated by his arch nemesis - the beautiful Super Heroine Parasitic Draw (Cindy). As noted, the camera does not focus well under low light conditions. Future episodes will require some amp usage to ensure the high quality of Luv Subbin productions...

Hey guys, thanks for the video. I was rather stumped when you said you had a generator, but elected not to get it out because you had too much other stuff in back of the truck to move? We bring our generator with us as well (Yamaha 2400) and I just start it from the tailgate and plug it in to our 2005 Classic. I'm not sure why you carry the generator at this point if you're not going to use it especially if your refrigerator is not working well on propane? Not coming down on you, but a little confused. Just out of curiosity have you installed an Easy Start on your AC so your generator can handle it? I installed one on our AC last year myself and it has been a lifesaver. Take care and happy trails.

Thanks for watching! Actually, we boondocked this past weekend and had the generator out and running (primarily for the fridge). The reason we keep all of our heavy items (generator, solar panels, etc.) as far back in the bed as possible is that I am tight on my Rear Gross Axle Weight Rating (only about 80 lbs. under max). Thus having it that far back helps. We anticipated the power coming on after only a few hours (which it did) so unpacking everything to get the generator out only makes sense for planned boondocking. And Yes, we have a Micro Air Easy Start. We've tested it with our Hondo eu2000i and it works.

On a submarine, when the reactor is scrammed, immediate actions call for “rig ship for reduced electrical”. The crew will then follow procedures and start shutting down all unnecessary electrical systems, while critical systems run off the boats battery. In the meantime, if able, we also “prepare to snorkel”, which means running the diesel generator once we get near the surface. Loss of electrical while we are camping (or at home) basically follows the same process. My wife hates it when I play submarine.

Why the autoformer? I've never been anywhere that we needed one. I always use an EMS though.
@LuvSubbin
4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! We've always used the autoformer to protect our inductive appliances like our air conditioner. The autoformer boosts pedestal voltage 2% all the time and 10% when voltage drops to 116V. Inductive appliances don't like low voltage so they'll continue to run but according to Ohm's law, they will draw more amps to meet a given power output. This isn't good and results in things running hotter thus potentially reducing life. Standard EMS will shut off power when pedestal voltage drops to 109V but it's that range of 109V - 120V that the autoformer helps to keep things healthy.

Leaving the outbanks of NC last year during a storm, a screen door blowing across a field hit the side of our truck, but completly missed our air stream! We had several paint dings and a wide white stripe on the truck; no dents. The white buffed out. Very scary. We also hit a bird with the air stream that left a bloody mess and one little ding just above the left front window rock guard. It may have broken the rock guard if it had hit it. I left lucky on both occassions! Thanks for the great videos!

Interesting. Our fridge works notably better on propane. Tomorrow we’ll be starting day 3 of no power or water/sewer hook ups. Just 2 Battleborns in the stock location. The most power hungry thing we tolerate is the inverter and Starlink but that’s how we’re watching you on our smart TV right now! We ran our propane fire pit for the first time tonight; about 4hrs on 10% of one 30lb bottle. Pleased with that! 41st wedding anniversary tomorrow while boondocking!

Thanks for watching and congratulations on your 41st anniversary! Yes, fridges are supposed to run better on propane. That's what's so baffling to me. It run GREAT on 120V (our big problem is not freezing veggies). I've cleaned the burner, the flame is picture perfect, and the flue is clean. I've done everything I'm supposed to and it holds a steady 43 F on gas...
