Stand on the hill just above St Cuthberts cave North of Belford.. Cheviot hills to the west. Bamburgh Castle and beach below to the east. Scottish Borders to the north and Holy Island to the north east. No one else there apart from sheep and gorse.. Bliss one of many great places in Northumberland.

Would be nice to take a week hiking Northumberland, and ending in in weekend in Newcastle Upon tyne, with Brown ale and Newcastle United game at St James Park, that would be perfect for a scandinavian boyhood Newcastle United fan

Love the anthem.I have to visit possibly move there, my family name is after the river Tyne. I have to at least see, stand in my ancestral Homeland and gaze upon the river my ancestors are named after before I die.

I hope you have managed to get here, or are hopefully able to soon. I am currently sat in a tent in the middle of a very rainy Northumbrian forest and as someone who's family name is from the region also, it is just wonderful to sit in your ancestral homeland.

Actually that part of Northumbria isnt tech Anglo Saxon. is Celtic part of the Votadenni tribe taken over by the Anglican kings. There descendants are still there. they spoke Cumbric.
@tannhasuervonhohenstein3728

That comment is rather silly. Northumbria itself was not Anglo-Saxon it was Brigantes/Roman. The Kingdom of Gododdin and the Votadini survived longer than the Brigantes. Angles and Saxons took over when Cumbric was likely still spoken in what became Northumbria as a whole and before it was Deira and Bernicia. Bernicia ruled most of South East Scotland, including Edinbrugh. A lot of The Old North still spoke Cumbric even when the Anglo-Saxoms took over and would do so for a long time.

Read about king oswald, anyway I wrote an anthem not a history book. Have you heard of the saying "never let the truth get in the way of a good story". If all songs were 100% factual there would not be any, chill and enjoy it for what it is.
