Wow Kevin, you have got so much work done. The woods look very clean so far. You’re right, all those loose tree limbs are just a fire hazard. A strike of lightning could spark a fire, it happens all the time where I live in the desert. Keep up the good work

Good on you! I lived at a place that the owner created a forest of trees and never maintained it. He needed a wood chipper at the least! He could have utilized all the dead wood but wasn't so bright. SO nice to see someone doing the right thing and it helps you more than anything as well as your neighbors.

I was once a volunteer firefighter. Most of our calls were brush fires. What your doing is smart and at the end of the day will save the good trees.

You've done an amazing amount of work already. I really enjoy doing what you're doing. But, I know that you feel sense of urgency. Please try to stay in the moment and don't even look 5 ft to the left or to the right. This is not something that you can rush. After all you've been through, I don't want anything to happen to you or to Bridget. Just keep walking one foot at a time and doing what you're doing and one day you'll look up and it will be finished. I hear your concern and it's not misplaced. I just want you to be careful because, accidents happen when you're thinking about what's coming up next. God bless you and Bridget. I know you'll have plenty of wood to stay warm this winter. 💕

That's wise that you're clearing those woods out! I agree it could start a fire! I moved a yr 1/2 ago, just 10 miles from where I was living for 2 yrs. I was on a very high mountain & still on a high mountain but it was higher & it's hard to get water on top of that mountain but not at this 1 bc it's closer to the city. I'm only 4 MI from a real small town in Mideast TN. Four months after, i got a phone call from the woman I rented the condo & she said that my building burned down it, hadn't rained in months & the mountain surrounded by Woods everywhere & that's where it started right behind my building, it also burned a little bit of the next building & it a took fire truck a long time to get there bc it's not easy & many have moved bc of the danger! There was only 1 more condominium neighborhood not far & the rest were, houses, lots of houses, so yes, you're doing a wise thing. I pray u get rain soon. I'm going to finish watching your video!🙏🏻🤍🕯🇺🇸

A forest can definitely be a HARD HAT AREA!!! H i Kevin, I'm glad you kept stressing the danger of clearing up a forest with years of neglect and "leaners" laying around everywhere.. Having previously been a Forester, I know first hand the danger of what you are doing. There is a woman I was working with in 2002 that just purchased a small amount of mountain property just outside of Lava Hot Springs. Her and her friend decided they would start by cleaning up the area near where they wanted the " out house" to go. They wanted to make it safe, or so they thought. That is when her friend began pushing over all of the trees that looked dead to her, but were still standing. As the last tree, came down, it came down, breaking in half right above her as she pushed it forward. When the bottom of that top piece landed on the top of her head, It literally tore her entire scalp off, from just behind her forehead, clear to the back of her head behind her ears. What a mess that was!!! After an hour drive to Pocatello, ID,, and about 140 stitches, and 100 staples later she definitely learned her lesson. If you are going into a forest to work, a HARD HAT can save your life!!!!

The place looks great! You really let the light shine in. That's a never-ending job! Seems you need an outside sprinkler system around the house and barn. What's the law regarding keeping the forest clear so you aren't liable. Does it need inspected? I never heard you could be liable for a freak act of nature incident. That info would be a good video. Thanks for video.

You could sell the firewood that you don’t need and make some extra money. You could start a small business called “ Eke Acres wild land fire consulting “ go out to other properties and consulate them on fire hazards. Maybe head down to the US Mexico border and scoop up some workers and house them in your barn. They can go out with chain saws and start cutting and stacking brush. Maybe even contract them out to local power companies to cut out fuel hazards long the power lines. You could sell the logs for fence building materials. Some people buy out a small mill and they mill out the lumber and sell it. You could make furniture out of the wood. Some like that rustic furniture such as bed frames and cabinets. I would suggest to wear a hard hat when you’re using a chain saw. Never use a chain saw by yourself. Wear pair of chain saw chaps to protect you’re legs with loggers style boots. Here in California land owner used to have control fires on their property. To reduce the fuel loading on the ground. You could find a clearing and stack the brush into piles and burn it . Save you from dragging that heavy logs all the way to your burn piles. Cover up the piles with plastic and burn it . When it sprig time. Drip torches work good to burn piles. The mix is 1 gallon of gasoline and 3 gallons of diesel. Shake it in 5 gallon Jerry or Jeep can. Then you have hot burn mix.

If memory serves me right? This became an issue up in Idaho with the Bundy standoff. That sure turned into a hot mess. Levoy cant spell his last name killed. And the place they where up there for was being bullied for basically doing what your doing. If the story was legit in the first place. In a nutshell, do what you gotta do brother to protect whats yours and whoever else you got. Dang government done gone evil and not any of them good or trustworthy in my book.
