I love Puerto Rico my parents live there and I visit aricebo quite often I always wanted to retire there, but the only thing that makes me nervous is the severity of some of the hurricanes they get there and the medical. I can tell you that it’s not bad medical care it’s very different,,,,,beautiful place and good luck be sure to travel to the other side of the island and take the ferry to vieques and culebra the beaches are beautiful

What declared Puerto Rico (Borikén) a U.S. territory? The United States made a deal 100 years ago today, on March 2, 1917, when the Jones-Shafroth Act became law making Puerto Rico (Borikén) a territory of the United States. The passage of the law guaranteed U.S. citizenship to Puerto Ricans born on or after April 25, 1898.Mar 2, 2017

People also ask How did Puerto Rico (Borikén) become a US property? On July 25, 1898, U.S. troops invaded Puerto Rico (Borikén) and occupied it during the months of the Spanish-American War. When the Treaty of Paris was signed in December, ending the war, Spain ceded Puerto Rico to the United States.Sep 7, 2022
