Adam, great pick on the accord! I bought that same year and model and really enjoyed driving it! SO much fun with the manual transmission and that V6 engine. Honda only did that combination in the coupe but not the sedan which makes it a fairly rare but VERY desirable car.
@nickg9021
6 ай бұрын
Are you limiting that V6 6 speed to a particular model year ? Because Honda did indeed put the V6 and six speed manual into the sedans AND coupes in 2006 . I almost bought one 5 years ago and the car was awesome to drive but the black leather interior was not up to my expectations for such a nice car ... lots of wear and rips on the front buckets. The rear seat looked the way I wanted the front to look. But the 6-6-6 combo definitely came on the sedans.
@davidbenji1

@nickg9021 You're right. I stand corrected. I think maybe just in 08 to 12 the setup only came in coupe.

Great job on the video. It’s nice to see Adam is doing well with his first few cars. Seeing Adam’s body work makes me wonder why Craig messes around with body and paint at all. As his dealership grows, you should outsource all your body work to him. That may be the extra income he needs to ditch his day job. Honestly being in the body business I cringe at every car Craig does body and paint on. Especially the Taycan that scratch on the bumper was hard to watch.

With exception of sports cars/ collectibles. I accidentally learned tat from buying a minivan because I was flat broke. Next thing I knew minivans were my thing lol. Everyone makes that mistake. I bought a 97 Wrangler that just needed paint. (I own a body shop) so its no biggie. It had a 4” lift that was leaning a bit. So i ordered new springs and shocks. Found out the sway bar perch was broken. So im in the process of replacing spring perches and lower links. (Requires cutting and welding). Luckily i can weld. But, looking back. I should’ve walked away from it. But im in it now. I should make 3k-5k profit

In Canada we have the Buick allure with the 3.8 in the states you have the lacrosse mostly with the 3.6 I have a 07 allure 3.8 only weird repair other than normal wear items is the gas pedal at 148,000 kms it has two sensors in it and the two codes that come up is one sensor isn’t talking to the other sensor and the other code is the other sensor isn’t talking to the other sensor lol but now at 280,000 kms I had to purchase another gas pedal but it only takes like five minutes to swap out. Car is still giving like 30 mpg awesome vehicle prior to it I’ve had three lesabres awesome vehicles.

Here’s a tip on the sales side from somebody with 50 years experience: don’t look like a bum. Shave and comb your hair and wear decent clothes. It doesn’t have to be an Armani suit, but you don’t instill confidence very easily when you look homeless.

That Accord is a pretty cool car. Fairly rare. The J Series engine is very reliable. One thing to note is that the engine in it is not the same as the other J Series of the same vintage. 6-spd Accords dont have the cylinder deactivation on it. Its 6 cylinders on all the time. A good upgrade if you need to replace the engine is a 3.7L out of a TL AWD or the MDX/ZDX 3.7L.

I had a dealers license twice over the years. bought and sold cars as a side gig. Eventually the state requirements became so strict that I decided I didn't want to make it a full time thing. Now I buy and sell on the side. I might drive one for a year or two then sell it. When I retire I may get into just older nice cars as the 60's through 80's are my favorite era (and I have quite a few I'll have to sell before I die).

In other words, plain mentoring to know shortcuts.

Great video guys! Full of very useful info and tips. The advice is greatly apprecaited! Just a question from my side. Started as well (my first real auction buy...started with minimal capital...so 90% of cash tied into it now), issue is, its been about 3months and no real bites. Its prices fair (really well looked after with FSH and nothing to fix), but still no reall bites. Thought i was going to make big profits (based on what i paid....nothing to fix) but the demand has been slow. Dropped price slightly (twice already) no real change. DO i just lower it till i get a buyer or wait it out? Waiting means being stagnant because the cash is tied into this first flip car.

alot of the direct injection cars do that with the pcv valve. My wife has a 14 equinox and that thing would clog up the pcv like that and burn oil. It killed the timing chain 3 times under warranty. I fixed it by basically drilling the hole out in the intake that fed it bigger.
