With Microsoft trying to invade our privacy, Linux based systems become more important than ever. People are fed up with AI tools trying to mine our data (adobe...) and with a fat new APU from AMD coming soon, while OS improves, i think it will become a very viable option for many who "just wanna game" but potentially also want to use it for productivity. Please keep us updated and i would like to see a "fat" build with a beefy Nvidia card. Not wiht Bazzite necessarly, but Steam support and 1-2 Benchmarks, comparing FPS to Windows native modes using the same settings/gpu.

Please brother for the love of god leave Novideo company "Nvidia" out of this we dont need them hwang may have have OpenGpu modules but its not open source at all and wont be as they are in the deal of microsoft and Nvidia generates money from it its that simple while AMD competes while also giving back to the community and support them.. Oh and also Nvidia has horrible chipset management while AMD is much more advanced and its Foss, why you need Novideo? Let that company die with Microsoft crap which was AntiUnix from the start with the david cutler as the head asshole of development, thats why Windows today is such a mess... Nvidia started after hwang left AMD company... Trust me AMD has much more power in this field but it lacks financial assistance in contrast to Nvidia due to Microsoft contracts to them and Consoles before and now AI selling to Azure Microsoft services and guess what... They all run in linux but its propriatery and only greedy bastards have the source code while AMD has stayed as a true company... Good job on Lisa CEO and Mark papermaster 🥂

I remember in the early 2000s building PCs. Back then you wanted the case to be as large as possible now, everybody wants tiny little cases. The worm turns.
@DJIsher1
3 ай бұрын
There’s still tons of builders that like huge cases nowadays. The only thing different is that the cases are more “aquarium” like instead. So they can show off their hardware. I also agree with the tiny cases. They’re kind of fascinating in the fact that the main draw usually is to pack as much performance in as possible in such a small footprint. There’s a huge market forming/formed around boutique tiny cases. It’s cool to see some of the designs emulate stuff like you’d see from Apple.

After watching the whole video; I don't think its worth it. Much better to just build something with a Ryzen 5600x and a RX6600 or 6600xt or even 7600xt. It would overall be much faster and honestly doesn't have to be much bigger in terms of size or even power consumption.. An A520 + 16GB of ram + 5600 (especially from ebay) is very cheap... add in one of the above GPUs and you would be around the same price as this setup but with 3x the GPU power at least.

If the system integrators for those distros are only adopting the Steam deck Game UI from the original, it s gonna be stuck with only proper support for AMDs RDNA architecture for a while since it is not supposed to be running on NVidia hardware. Until Linux Gaming gets recognized by NVidia they might not be looking/asking to cooperate with Valve to uplift their performance on Linux based systems... Unless they are asked to make a SoC for a console as happened with AMD for the Steam deck.

I found a fully modular Apevia fATX PSU that's 450 watts on Amazon, and it's barely more than this. Granted, it's hard to find anything about it to make sure it's not going to explode on you. Turning frame gen on in benchmarks like this sucks ass cause I don't know what we actually can achieve, not to mention using framegen in games that are below 30fps makes the video quality look horrible. It'd be way better to just show us the game running with FSR balanced as opposed to the framegen cause at that point you're just showing us something that is being used in a situation is shouldn't and most people wont use like that.
