JEALOUS!! For those of you putting a garage together. I regret using the thin 5mm plywood for the celling, it was very floppy and sagged without support beyond 24". Deformable lights are wonderfully bright but burn out in a year. Adding extra thermal compound didn't help as much as I hoped, turns out the plastic UFO version with more LEDs are superior (1.5 years so far). These light bars are absolutely the best and have survived the barn nonstop without issue for 2 winters.

It might have been a good idea to insulate the walls to make the work area nicer- cooler in summer warmer in winter. The insulation would have also add sound dampening so your neighbors might not complain as much in the future.

Makes me think of a pastor I know who's also a contractor. Can't wait until everything aligns so I can work with him to build my own house!

Looks awesome - love the colour! (I am from UK, so yes we use a U in colour) Can I make a tiny suggestion to make your videos better... use a clip on microphone, sometimes it is hard to hear the voice using the phone mic alone... Thanks - looking forward to seeing the new Skorpios soon!

I’ve been envisioning doing something like this for a while, although it will have to wait until I get out of college. I’m really interested to see what you came up with

Very impressive shop space, congrats! I was originally thinking you should have painted the ceiling white but the effect with the white hexagon lighting on the darker blue is amazing.

0:57 Zach did you know Diana was doing bunny ears on you that entire time 😂 But yeah, the shop looks cool, I just wonder where all the Skorpios’ will be. You might have something for them, but we’ll have to wait and see for now

Great shop. That lighting looks amazing, though I'd want to incorporate a dimmer switch to adjust it so my brain isn't screaming at me after an hour or two.

Why plywood instead of drywall?

Great question! It's easier to screw to, so we can mount light to medium weight things without worrying about locating them on studs or using fancy drywall anchors. Just put screws directly in. (For heavy things, we'll still anchor to studs)
