I am loving all of this. Thank you Grace Slick, Paul Kantner, Mickey Thomas, and all of the other musicians for allowing me and others to view these videos. I never had the opportunity when I was younger to listen to Jefferson Starship because my family was anti-rock. I am 53 and getting to enjoy this for the first time. Keep it all up and going, please. I listen all the time now. I dream of going to see a concert, still.

AWESOME! Jefferson Airplane/ Jefferson Starship/ Starship was always at its most amazing when onstage, where Gracie Slick could duel with Balin/ Kantner/ Thomas. Love to see guitar hero Chaquico getting down with some metal techniques in the outro. Way underrated as a guitarist. My favorite band in the day, and still the gold standard by which I measure all bands now.

WOW! this is the best version of "We Built This City" I have ever heard. the vocals are okay, the synth at 4:24 was just absolutely epic and got my blood pumping, the bass guitar was pretty good, and so was Craig Chaquico's electric guitar riffs. Although We Built this City is my favorite song, the original version was not the best I must admit. When I watch the original music video the audio quality is terrible in my opinion. The only thing I love about the original music video version of the song was the strong bass guitar riffs. the original version had weak guitar and synth riffs. For those who hate this song have you ever wondered what it is actually about? what is the meaning of the song? A hater of the song usually says "oh, its about building a city of rock and roll just because they repeat it over and over again." that is not what the song is about. "Someone always playing corporation games who cares their always changing corporation names we just want to dance here someone stole the stage they call us irresponsible write us off the page." the real lesson of We Built This City is (or at least one of them) MUSIC IS NOT ABOUT MAKING MONEY. the song is a cry of rebellion against the corporatization of the music industry. " who counts the money underneath the bar? who write the wrecking ball into our guitars." when they sing "Marconi plays the mamba," they are really saying "the radio plays a dangerous snake." the snake is corporate made garbage music "slithering" out of the radio( like most of todays music except for a few good indie bands) and brainwashing those who listen to it with its poison. Mickey Thomas said himself in an interview that the only thing people took from the song was the "We Built This City" part. So if you hate this song I'm asking you not to say bad things about it. if you don't like it, then why are you listening or commenting on it? If you don't like this song listen to your favorite songs from the 60s ,70s, or 80s (I would like to join you because some of my other favorite songs are from those decades).

Well, Blender apparently called it the worst song ever. It's neither the best nor the worst. I think it's a quintessential '80s song and well reflects the time period. And the lyrics by Bernie Taupin are sometimes clever and do contain a message. I interpret it as an idealistic vision that, "The value is in the music, not the business." And I agree with you that Slick is undoubtedly the smart one.
