Those are bull shark pups. They have some black on them especially when they're in dark brackish water. Fun stuff!

Back in the late '80s two friends and I were on Mud Island in Memphis talking over where we were going next. We were leaning on a rail over the river looking down just talking when a smaller bull shark, about 3 feet, chased a fish I couldn't ID up through the shallows right in front of us. We all recognized the shark, though. No mistaking that dorsal fin sticking up in the shallows. Definitely a bull shark and it looked healthy from what I could see. One of those "Things that Happen" I guess. lol

Lol that was a bull shark. Rounded about big bull head. Black tips don't go to far in fresh water unless the salt content is very high. The bull shark can travel thousands of miles in fresh water and live there. Oh ya , the bull shark it one of the most likely sharks to attack humans. That was a bull. Don't let those black tips on the fins fool you. I've been catching them for 35 plus years and in my opinion the bull shark has a better flavor. Bulky muscle. Yum on the grill to

You need to swim a big Gar or Catfish for a Bull Shark. The guys down here swim big skates/rays for Zambezi (Bull) sharks in the surf in Zululand and often get spooled by GIANTS. You'll need heavy tackle though, a Talica 50 loaded with 65lb Berkley Whiplash and .70 mono topshot and a rod to match. Your fishing style is very different to ours, so you'd likely need a standup boat rod with a gimble. We use 13-15 ft 3 piece HMC/HMG surf rods but with the above type of conventional reels.
