Thank you so much for keeping this topic relevant. I think about the little girl in Uvalde whose parents could only identify her remains by her shoes. Heart breaking, no parent should ever go through that.

As a teacher with Nashville ties, thank you for this. I am so disgusted by the lack of action by the Guns Over People party. They care for no one, only their own power. We either elect better people or line our kids up for possible slaughter. We do have a choice....unless of course it has been gerrymandered away.

@Michael Sousa Every country has people with mental health issues, not every country has regular mass shooting nor does every country think they need their citizens armed to the teeth to go to Walmart, Starbucks, etc. We license drivers, we require insurance, we could do the same for guns.

A great way to address mental health is to not allow people with severe mental health issues to have deadly weapons... It's what every other country on the planet has done and, despite us all having citizens with mental health issues, we don't have hundreds of mass shootings a year. It's incredible that so many people are against gun regulation "because of the second amendment", when the second amendment specifies the need for regulation ("well regulated"). Anyone would think they'd never even read the second amendment... 🤔

Gun control must change. To many children are dying and it's just not right! I'm not bashing Americans at all. I love travelling to the states and have done so a lot. This is true and it is one video that stirred up a lot of emotions within me. It is tragic and preventable that we have all of these mass shootings. It is also sad and disappointing how politicians have been targeting the LGBTQIA community while so few of their followers even question it. The same party that was stirred up into literally wanting to hang the Vice President of their own party now scream it is the folks carrying the rainbow flag that we should really fear, not those carrying a noose or assault rifle. We’re living in a strange reality. Thank you for trying to shed some light on both subjects while we try to navigate these confusing times.

@@ForeverMe543 I think you hit the reply to the wrong comment, although I’ll clarify anyway. When I said the LGBTQIA community is being targeted it is because the anti-LGBTQIA rhetoric has been escalating. This is nothing new and I doubt anyone would deny it is happening. Maybe it is something I pay more attention to because I’m genuinely in fear for my loved ones within the community and have been for quite awhile as I’ve seen how much this rhetoric has been getting more and more dangerous and common, especially in the last few months. The LGBTQIA community is 100% being targeted and I’m honestly scared of where this is leading. So many in power are trying to stir up hate toward them and it has to stop. I’m sorry if you feel differently, although I don’t know what your comment about those being assaulted and silenced meant in reference to my comment unless you misunderstood my comment and meant to say the rights of the LGBTQIA community are being assaulted and their voices silenced by these attacks.

This video is Spot on!!! They are so obsessed with their Gun Freedom that they don’t care nor worry about them actually getting in the wrong hands and being used for horrid atrocities. We live 2 miles down the road from the school in FL that was also shot up. Why are they allowing this Trend to continue?! This country baffles the hell outta me. So for now my kids will continue school at home, as I’d rather be struggling then worried my kids won’t come home alive one day.

At first this video made me doubt whether I should have shared it or not.. but the discomfort with the upbeat tone talking about something so gruesome is the reality of the world we live in today. I hate it but it is very evident that we become more and more traumatized after everyone of these stories. While I know I have become numb videos like this make the numbness go away... thank you!

I'm I the only one? I'm just like 'meh' at this point. dead kids, in school, another day in America and the same old tired response is 'now is not the time to talk about guns'? 'let's talk about 'mental health' '. I been hearing that show tune for over 30 years. So that can't be the problem. I dunno, maybe it's........... .................. ............................ well, guns? just guessing here. When I was a youngin it was handguns. too many handguns on the streets but we couldn't possibly regulate that because the criminals. Today, too many machine guns on the streets so we need to regulate that but we can't possibly do that because the crazies. Back in my day we would have called this an excuse, a reason to not do anything. Only in America.

They can’t. It’ll just fuel the illegal guns trade and smuggling into this country. It’s not a gun problem. It’s a mental illness problem and holding parents accountable for not locking up guns or making sure firearms have been removed from the home.
@mariag.8242
Жыл бұрын
When someone is boiling in resentment and decides they’re going to punish the world, in any other country that’s not an active war zone, they have to carry out their rampage with at best a bolt action rifle. In Canada we’ve had a series of horrible random attacks but the criminals had knives. They could hurt 3 or 4 people of even kill someone, but they can’t kill or maim 10, 20 or more. We also just have fewer people convinced that if their lives suck, they should kill a lot of strangers, although like any phenomenon in the US, we get some of it. We also have many fewer accidental in-home shootings because we have strong safe storage laws. Most illegal guns in the US are stolen out of careless legal owners’ cars, so your lax laws are arming your criminals. . Finally, when someone here wants to own a gun they have to get training and pass a test. Meanwhile the cops are doing a real background check, interviewing former partners to make sure the applicant isn’t a partner terrorizer since that’s the best predictor of mass shooters, looking for violent crimes or evidence of uncontrolled bursts of anger and violence, checking whether they have or had a mental illness, etc. You’re also affecting your neighbours. The illegal handguns gangs use here are smuggled from the US, and your big drug dealers pay the cartels in semi-automatic rifles, making the struggle against them bloodier.
