Doesn't look abandoned at all. Old yes. Not abandoned. Probably needs dedicated fans of the actor to be the keeper of the house. Together look after the house. In my country, there was a stage actor who died childless. Fans gathered and make the house as a place to hang out, read books, and learn acting. With the real belongings still there.

@arnie shanks Having lived on the streets in london for 3 years in my early 20s I for one have never robbed, begged, touched any drugs except paracetamol when I got a headache (and thats since getting back on my feet) And there are many homeless people sleeping on the streets who you don't see as they have some self respect and don't do any of what you stated above. Yes there are the ones who only do it for drugs etc, but then you need to ask yourself why do they do drugs? Usually its from a bad background such as PTSD from ex army, abusive families or partners who drove them to drugs or alcohol to try and blank out the memories. Maybe you should live a month in their shoes and see it from the otherside. As for £500 a day, well I'm in the wrong job. (source of your info please for clarification)

Like I tell all explorers as interesting as this is you will pay a hefty fine health wise in the end. Most houses have black mould. The mold spores can colonize (grow) inside lung cavities that developed as a result of chronic diseases, such tuberculosis, emphysema, or advanced sarcoidosis. ... Invasive aspergillosis, the most severe type, occurs when the infection travels from the lungs into the bloodstream. You need PPE (Protective gear). There may also be asbestos in old places again if inhaled can cause lung damage. Just saying guys........ don’t die early because you were exploring abandoned houses.

The period of the home is Tudor style and the interior structure gives clues it was built between 1860 and the late 1800's. The cracks in the walls and floor are from settling over 100 years, the narrow halls, and the key locks in the door with the key date to the Victorian era.

I went down a real rabbit hole with this one...! Others have stated that the actor who had lived here was Trevor Howard, who died in 1988, however the Bahamian flag on the wall in one of the rooms had me thinking it was actually Earl Cameron. He only died in August 2020, although I can find no reference to him having been any sort of car enthusiast, so I'm not sure. Evidentally he received an OBE in 2009 anyway, which seems fitting given the photo of the Queen & DofE on display. Seems like a bit if an old bachelor's pad, anyway! Because Trevor Howard and Helen Cherry didn't not have any children. After Trevor died in 88, Helen lived there with her 2nd partner, Tim Baker until her death in 2001. Tim himself lived on there until 2016. Tim's relatives have not claimed anything that belonged to the Howards, so it's all still there. The house was on the market for 3 years but the water damage and subsidence deterred potential buyers. I understand it finally sold around the time this video was made.

Helen had another long term relationship with Tim Baker after Trevor's Howard's death, and left the estate to him after she died. Tim passed away in 2016.

He was a great actor one of his movies was Ryan's Express and his wife too was a good actress. But it's a shame he had his demons.

I really wonder about these abandoned houses that are still furnished. I don't know how it is in other countries, but in America, intruders would empty those houses in a heartbeat and take everything in them. It is just pretty unbelievable that there are any abandoned homes with anything left in them (at least in the U.S.). And, no explorer will ever convince me that he/she/they don't take what they want from those houses. In fact, if they don't, they're pretty foolish.

Interesting. The actor himself died in the late 80’s and his wife, who I assume continued to live there after his death died herself in 2001. She could have moved into a nursing home before her death so the house could have been empty for years before too. Or maybe it was a second home. They had no children so the house has been empty for at least 20 years, who knows who was left it in her will, maybe no will was written? (I’d assume not because surely the house would have been sold many years earlier). In this case the estate is passed to the crown (known as bona vacantia) and can be years before the house is finally sold if no one comes forward to lay claim or ask for a financial share. Such a shame a life well lived (especially a famous actor) is not recognised or valued by others. All those wonderful holidays, memories and items collected over 80 years of life gone in a heartbeat with no one the least bit interested. Just shows you to live every day like it’s your last and when you have no use for possessions anymore, just sell it all and live in a hotel. Or have children...

Looking at the Car rally signs at 7.20 The date on 39th meeting orange is June 2012, furthermore is 40th meeting green, would be 2013 & the last blue would be 41st meeting at 2014. Upstairs wedding photo of couple & car seems to be 2010 ish. Also when leaving the house not a great deal of mail. Cup in sink not full of algae.

After writing my first comment I read the other comment from Dominic a year ago saying a man named Tim moved in after the actors wife died, I wonder if he was the named beneficiary and has only just died himself. Crazy that the decor hasn’t been updated though for at least 40-50 years though, maybe Tim was preserving their memories if he was a loyal or grieving friend

At-6:28-- The neat modle!! I make doll houses and some of little things like the one there if complete go for some big money. I saw one that was oh a sunk in living room /dineing area with two bed rooms extremely detailed, like tiney fish in a tiney tank, small hand made Afgan dog by the fireplace. Hand made books on the shevels, lighting ...the price tag was a whopping $22,000. ! You could read the books with a magifieing glass & they had a book opened in the case. Stuff was gold & silver plated, dineing stuff. It was amazing.
