It's been a long time coming, but we are finally ready to raise the first wall for our off-grid house build.
One year ago we moved our 28 foot RV onto our raw land, built an EG4 solar power system, and have been living off the grid ever since. Six months ago, we began clearing land in the middle of our pine forest and officially began building our off grid house together as a family. Thiis week, we are excited to finally raise the first the walls by ourselves.
In this video, we finish framing out the exterior walls for the bedroom wing of our off grid house, and put in the window and door headers. Then, it's time to put our Kubota L47 tractor to work as a fail-safe while we raise the walls. Justin and Lil (Aka. The Muscle) lift the walls together and nail them into place, and the Dewalt nail gun behaves itself for once. The spruce studs are softern than the southern yellow pine floor joists.
As always, it's a full day of little helping hands, crowing roosters, Mafia ducks and slow progress on the off grid house build.
