I went there in 10th grade. It was a beautiful school. We used to walk down from campus and get slices of pizza from Rizzos. There was a pool and track and the library and planetarium were right there as well. It's so sad what the area has become. At one time there were actual mansions in the area and it was a beautiful neighborhood. And then the trash humans came and it's a terrifying place to even drive through, let alone get out to walk. My husband still works for the cultural center, it's not the way it was though.. A few blocks to the south or east and you're in hooker hell and crackhead city. There's trash and human trash littering every block. Sad reality.

Me my uncle and my brother all went exploring there too. It's crazy that the school wasn't just shut down but completely abandoned. From students records still in the office to writing still on the chalkboards/whiteboards. It's like school was in session one day and then no one ever came back. Truly a mysterious situation. And yes the building is absolutely beautiful even in its current condition. Would like to go back again someday.

I ended up going to an alternative school where my grandmother went to for high school, but was turned into a multi building for offices, schooling, and taxes. I’ve been in here. I grew up in Fenton which is 10 minutes south of Flint. I have pics on my Facebook of me and a bunch of my high school friends in there back in 2016. We spent an entire night partying and exploring the property after going to the theater together to see the remake of Blair Witch. It was October and we were in the mood to do spooky shit. Haha. Even brought a Ouija Board with us. We came in by climbing a tree to the roof and then entered a broken window in the room that has the pool. They kept most of the lights on back then. The library was fully lit. I’m talking daylight kinda bright. Haha. I don’t think y’all realize how absolutely MASSIVE this place is. Such a great experience, makes me miss those good old days back when high school had just ended and me and all those people whom I’d known since grade school thought we’d be together and inseparable forever. How naive we were. I hope they’re all doing well and know I still have love for them. ❤ I’ll never forget that night.
