0:00 Tokyu 9000 is powered by Hitachi GTO-VVVF, which is very popular by Japanese railway fans. Recently Hitachi GTO goes hard to listen. 4:32 Although the 6300 is IGBT-VVVF, it produces a loud and dynamic sound.

Wooow good work guys ! You visited many stations of subways and private railways around Kanto area and recorded vary types inverter sounds. I think the sounds are only annoying noise even for daily commuter passengers 😅but I evaluate this video is so worthy study. Kudos to your explore trip !

Awesome video maxson! Brings back a lot of memories living in japan for a couple years. Jiyugaoka was actually my local station when I was little, used to hear these trains pass by all the time 😄. The train at 0:32 seconds is the Tokyu 9000 series, first constructed around the 1980’s. Lucky you caught them, they are getting retired soon!

The Bulgarian capital of Sofia also has a similar sounding engines on the Russian trains of the Sofia Metropolitan Subway when taking off acompanied by the bogies making a loud sound when accelerating

ya those make for good sound recording videos for klik klak my fav one is keisei your mrt may be quiet but at least bus and train headways in singapore are far better 😂 train frequency in the suburbs here is terrible, like 20-45min or sometimes exceeding 1hr like hachiko line, hokuso line, boso peninsula or saitama/gunma/tochigi kanagawa headway better cos population density there higher

ya cos insulated rail joints are more common here than in SG in SG they're only located before and after the crossovers but rural lines here the IRJs are everywhere 😂

Fun fact: Eidan subway (now tokyo metro) had used lots of chopper motors that were similar to c151. But sadly, they are now defunct.

my favourite is the JR E231-1000 pre-refurbished version. a very unorthodox VVVF motor that is slowly becoming extinct. 😢

Hitachi IGBT VVVF crash inverter.There are still a few equipped, especially attached formations with 5 cars. Mitsubishi IGBT VVVF Tornado/Ghost inverter in E231 -0/-500 was one of the best. But all are updated.

we called these sound VVVF(Voltage Variable Frequenc)and train Otaku can tell which series is this train )y hearing but the hardest thing is some of them have the same sound
