You should have Apple care, you get unlimited incidents of accidental damage, It’s $3.50 a month and if something ever happens Apple will replace it for $49. We just had an accident last week, my husband accidentally sat on the iPad that had gotten wedged in the side of the couch (he didn’t realize it was there), the screen was absolutely decimated. Apple made the exchange super quick and simple. Highly HIGHLY recommend.
@elphieglindie3285
Жыл бұрын
I don’t know if one can get apple care on refurbished devices, which is what so many parents of neurodivergent kiddos buy because buying a new device makes little sense quite often. When they are using one or two apps, older generation iPads are much cheaper and still do the job perfectly. Especially when a user gets very used to a particular device and set up. Though this is a great tip for when people do buy one new.
@ariannasearway
Жыл бұрын
@@elphieglindie3285 I just looked! When you purchase a refurbished device from apple you CAN have apple care, you just have to add it to your cart separately. It definitely makes sense to have the Apple care, wether the device is brand new or refurbished, either way it’ll be a money saver especially considering they now do unlimited incidences of accidental damage. ☺️ $49 deductible vs $300-$400 without it, or more if you happen to have a more expensive device like the iPad Pro.
@ariannasearway
Жыл бұрын
@Women In History Definitely! You can only add apple care at the time of purchase and within the first 60 days after purchase, if it’s been longer than 60 days they won’t be able to add it to their account. Unfortunately they’ll have to wait until the iPad needs to be replaced then they’ll be able to add it to their account, it can even be added to a refurbished device as long as it’s purchased from apple.

@@ariannasearway You are 100% on the money! I meant if purchasing from a third party, I should have stated that. Apple Care is a must have when you buy directly from apple. in case you need to know how to get super glue off your skin, use 100% acetone. (hopefully it's not on sensitive skin, because i wouldn't recommend acetone like near your face or thin skin areas) it sort of "melts" the glue away. acetone dries out your skin so just use some cream or lotion after, but you won't have to suffer the feeling of dried glue on your skin. ☺️❤️

Sometimes the grippy texture is annoying and silicones can warm up to body temperature when holding. If she prefers them out of the case it’s probably because it feels light weight, the iPad itself is cold because it’s metal and glass, and the texture is very flat/fine surface/grit it’s smooth so maybe a protective case that’s smoother with less ridges could help or one that’s their favorite color/ able to be frozen to make cold/distracting but not overwhelmingly so. Honestly super gluing the case on may be an easy way for her to break the pad- but I’m saying that is what’s happening it’s just that’s an awesome case and it’s made to be thrown around and honestly both pads are broke in the same place and it looks like a roll break from slow pressure on the side, like if you fall and your phone is in your pocket and it assumes your shape not the phone shape- that’s the cracks you’ll produce- so the pads might be broken from the case being forced off wrong 🤷♀️ I would cry if I broke my pad frfr I’m glad you are on it and have back ups ❤️ also love the fact that you know it’s gonna break so you get the pads refurbished instead of brand new that’s awesome recycling reusing ❤

one of my autistic brothers uses his tablets to communicate with us sometimes, and i felt like we were the only ones with like three backups! also, supergluing the cases is GENIUS, im gonna see if we can try that next time

My sons communication device is the Amazon fire tablet with the PEX program. Its pretty much the same as your daughters, tiles, speaks on touch demand and it has spelling and forming sentences. He has destroyed many devices. We started off using LG tablets but they failed even with cases really quickly. We have never super glued them into the protective device. Guess we're lucky there. We refurb the broken devices if we can.

I don’t know if it should be specific case or color for her, but if not, otterbox is the most durable case for iPad/iPhone. It literally is so durable. Maybe you can paint if it should be vivid color.

Haven’t had to use my apple care yet but I just finished my monthly payments and now I’m just waiting for something to happen to this thing. I just know I’m going to drop it or I’ll drop my backpack to fast and my pile of English books are going to crush it. It’s nice to know I have an easy replacement option.

I get iPads from my work that are returns from construction sites that also come with OtterBox defender cases. We also have to glue the case together. Still go through ipad fairly often. Having an investigation source helps a lot.

Seeing the broken screens made me think of when Abbie threw the tablet out the window and Priscilla pulled over on the freeway and was trying so many things to get it out!
