But I also feel where Tami is coming from. I wish that both sexes could walk in eachothers shoe for a year. Then we would begin to appreciate and understand eachother alot more. 😊

While I understand Tami’s argument about having to ask, I don’t share her feelings about having to ask my husband for help anymore. After couples therapy, I recognized that I created a space where he did not have to volunteer because when he would offer his help in the beginning of our relationship, I would always say “no I got it.” I created the scenario that I was a superwoman, simply because I secretly resented the fact that he asked if I needed help instead of just doing it. Much like Wayne, my husband will gladly do anything I ask of him. So I have learned to ask for help without feeling resentful especially since he immediately takes care of it. We don’t have small children so child care issues do not come into play. I still take care of all the interior household items and sorting the payment of the bills because I am much better at those things (truthfully, he does not do it my way, so it’s not right…lol). I hate how he packs the dishwasher, folds laundry and makes the beds, and I always redo it when he does any of these things. If he had to sort the payment of bills, it would always be late because he is forgetful 😂. I say all this to say, I can’t have it all and I would rather have a willing participant when asked, than a chest full of resentment waiting for an initiator.

Tami, the other side of this passionate discussion is that many of us would trade places with you. How lovely it would be to have a man who would willingly complete a task when asked. Gladly do it as Wayne does. . Isn’t it interesting that regardless of our circumstances, we seem to desire more. Asking isn’t such a monumental task Tami. It’s not so bad Tami. I dont think this is about men or women roles. Each relationship develops its own formula of work distribution over time. What happens here is that Tami is naturally a strong woman and thinks she has everything figured out (from naming the kids, to decorating the house, to planning dinner) She wants to do it all. Wayne subliminally realises this and inadvertenly drops back to play substitute striker. But naturally, Tami can be tired mentally and physically and would love if Wayne steps in without cue in those moments. Not very easy to do when there is a norm. I totally understand both rationales tho. You guys are blessed with eachother. This is almost best case scenario despite what u might think

A man doing something ever so often and making it seems like its enough is really not. Remember we all are humans and need to give one another breaks. Cause we all get burned out. The role of running a house is never ending. So for that job and yes it is a job. To be home where we live and are to relax. Think about it. It’s a lot. It’s gets to no rest for the already weary 😮💨

Since nuff woman on MTM a jump pon di gender train let me play contrarian and stir up some trouble to show a point. Could it be that UNO BRUCK DI man dem wrong and its not gender programming? Heres how it usually goes down. The first time uno cook and run house for di youth is puuuurre romance. Sweeti this honey dat. fine dishes and best recipes come out. You a go show him that you know how to take care of your man etc etc. Plaintain every day and Oxtail never so soft. Den.. when house fi set up - UNO LAY OUT DI WHOLE KITCHEN the way UNO want (and there will be hell to pay if him want something to go in another place - 'I'm the woman who the H to the L does he think he is to tell me where that should go?). SO what does a human (not man or woman) get from that? Simple. Dat is uno space to control and dem better tread lightly when dem in the kitchen! Then romance eases off to day to day routines and uno VEX!! because uno set the kitchen up as YOURS and him stay weh. So heres a suggestion - bruck him and YOURSELF right and start from early working TOGETHER In the kitchen and washroom. Make it a fun date time before theres kids. GIve him the sense its shared space and you both work it together. Better to do that then blame the fact that him wear pants and brief when is uno dat bruck him wrong from the start.

YES YES ...This topic need crowd. Big crowd and PODCAST!!! I tell my husband this all the time. Theres no CONSISTENT initiative to pay attention to the daily routines that a mother does day to day and say babes, let me do so and so.. More time, we don't even want you to say, just do. It's a lit for mother's to have to remember what we have to do, what to do for the kids and remember things for the husband on top of many other things. We don't "love" the roles. It's not about being comfortable, it's what needs to get done. Cause if we as mother's sit down like our life partners, husbands. Then nothing would get done. House would like like nuhbaddy live in it. I could go on and on.. Tammy, you hit the NAIL with this topic.. it's not about being miserable or bashing men. It's to show them that what they feel is not as important for them they have no interest unless it something they want to do. Which is mainly of no help withing the household. Love you guys. My son is 2 and have grown up watching you guys and he loves Atlas.

Iver if they ever realize that simple initiative skill turns on a woman, and they would never have to work that hard for intimacy, I wonder if they would do it more often🤔🤔

This was indeed a beautiful conversation, love to see the differences in opinion and what is indeed a reality in most cases that women are the ones who always do without asking.....but on the other hand not all men do wait to be told what to do. Trust me I wash, cooked, and clean as a husband and as a boyfriend without being told what to do because I know that marriage or any relationship is a partnership. Love you guys big up Aunty Tami, uncle Wayne and the boys they all look so handsome and awesome going to school, princess Ivy is such a gem despite having aunty Tami up at night, she looks so alert and smart. Also, I for one miss Momo and hope that Alex is enjoying University as well. Oh my MTM family remember to tune in every day all day to #GIO For Love Songs

Another thing Wayne. As men we need to see the signs and notice when our partners are not in the best of moods and try to pre-empt the misery (forgive me ladies) and as Tami says volunteer to do things (just for that period. lol) that will make them feel better.

Preach!!!! Tammy😀. This is an ‘argument’ the way it should be, each person making their point and the other listening without responding in anger. Tammi won though Wayne

This was such a great conversation to listen. I was so tuned in for it. Because it's just the facts. N like u said, it is a conversation that had to be had. It will never be an equal split but we gotta do what we gotta do. Love u both. Continue to be real. I always get a good laugh, shed a tear or two, and learn so much.

Tami, you have hit the nail on the head. In fairness to our men folk there are some women who do take the 'blue' duties for granted and never take the initiative to assist.

That initiative conversation is everything. I love the fact a couple can have their difference in opinion on a topic and still find mutual groundvatbthe end. Kudos to Wayne too on the fact that he heard and he listened. Not many men know how to.

Tami and Wayne this was a very interesting and honest conversation between a couple. They are so many lessons to be learnt as well. The gender roles debate and how men see things and how women feel came out. Having an understanding of how men and women operate will help. Yes, men and women are definately wired differently; if we dont undertstand that, there could be tension and resentment in the relatonship. We have to give and take sometimes to make it work. You both are a wonderful team and good example for other couples. It was not an argument but an honest conversation that ended on a good note.Happy Anniversary!

Wayne does a lot more than MOST father's do give him some credit. Try as we might a man and a woman's role will nvr be 50/50 split down the middle there are some qualities we posess as women that make us better at some things it's just life ,it's how God made us all that's required is a little compromise. I watch your content because of how loving and respectful you are to each other such a rarity these days Marshi jump in a one or two night mek Tami get some sleep, Tami u have to appreciate that men and women are different and try work around it it's how God made us. love you guys

I really really enjoyed this conversation! Thank you for being transparent and having REAL CONVERSATIONS!! I naturally understand Tammy’s position and I think she summed it up beautifully with “we do not want obedience, we need initiative”. I’d also say that I have really been intentional about given my husband positive reinforcement when he takes initiative to help me and that encouragement sweetens labor as they say! May God continue to bless your entire family! I really enjoy your channel.

I love this No one should feel like it’s an argument or who a do more than who when it comes on to talking about certain things in the household because at the end of the day we are a team we’re in this together our family is first and we need each other in many ways …where I lack my partner fill in and us moms too need a break without having to ask at times sometimes we need fi hear honey or my love let me take over from here I love how at the end you both kiss and make up no one is upset and it’s an eye opener for each other ❤❤ that’s why me will forever be a #MTMfamilymember I love y’all relationship and it inspires me with mine 😊
