I loved the cabin build. Self sawn logs and elbow grease. The solar power generators reflect my understanding...and many in the far north make extra effort to keep their batteries warm.

A consideration to wire before the insulation and interior walls are completed might be some LED spot lights on the higher areas of the cabin to light the perimeter should you want to or need to...we built a house on our property in VT last year and had a double headed spot put on the four corners of the house...being in the country with no other light sources we are able to light the perimeter of the house with one switch. It is a luxury but one that would be easier to place wire now if you choose. All the best to you and the family in 2024...may you continue to be blessed, be well.

Great video. U could build a small insulated box with rigged foam 2x2 or 3x3 for a temporary spot for your charging box with light to keep your battery's warm enough to charge for the cold time of the year

Great video Lucas I done the same setup in my building ran some led 4 ft lights, receptacle boxes and switches for the lights, I left a 2 ft male plug at the switch box so I could plug into a generator or whatever, great video.

Looking good man! You can use better solar panels to raise the charging capabilities. You just need to know the max charging input of the unit your connecting the solar panels to.

Yeah, I can see this being pretty easy to get enough power to keep these units doing everything we need. I will be planning more and better panels in the future! 👊

hey you have it happening! Genoverse came through, nice. I went with a pair of Ecoflow units, A delta 2 and a Delta max. Their 100w rigid panels are on sale on Amazon two for like $150.00! They come with aluminum hardware brackets. I stuck 'em directy on galvinized metal roof. Not the best plan, will see if there is a reaction there. At that price a pair is a steal. You have plenty of room up there! BTW, I finally put the 1 1/2" wheel. spacers in the BX. I did not expect how nicely the ride evens out. Thanks for the tip. Happy New Year. Chris

I have heard great things about the Eco Flow units. They actually reached out wanting to send me a unit, but it was smaller and I didn’t really want to try to compare it to these bigger 2500W units. That is a great deal on those panels. I am planning to eventually upgrade to rigid panels and you’re right, I could add a lot of them up there! Thanks for commenting! Glad the spacers are working well for you too.

Prices are coming down on this stuff. A small one would be handy for phones, lap tops and such. I named mine after their weight. 50#er & 27#er. Thing is all of these things have parasitic loads Using the 50 to charge a phone is counter productive. The parasitic load looks greater than what the phone draw is. Nuts! I need to research more about the low temp charging cut off. As I understand it, charging at less than 32°f will damage lifies. I assume the units are smart enough to know it's too cold to charge and cut off charging. The BX does ride better. I used to feel like a shaken 'rag doll' even on level ground 😵💫. Ya 'll be well. Chris

Oh, I meant to point out, parasitic loads on the smaller units are proportionally less.

Krikie, I could have used a small battery station over night, by the bed stand. Second power outage this year. The Ecoflow delta 2 takes care of the freezer, with out a huff. The Delta 2 max hardly knows the fridge is plugged in. The wheel spacers feel great. I had to get different lugs, to fit. The taper looks the same, but they sure felt odd torquing. I just came in from grinding the bucket edge bolts down to half. Even snow clogs up on 'em. Be well Chris

Lucas: could you put a battery warmer blanket on the generator and have the generator run a small amount of power to the blanket? That way it would keep your geneator warm enough to charge when the stove is off. Something like this. BMI 36"/ 80 watt Battery Blanket Heater Warmer Battery Wrap 5 X 36 Nice job with the lighting. Any hanging lighting going to the porta potty? Do you have a fire extinguisher at the cabin.. just in case? You have my curosity on high alert for the insulation job. That is definately going to be good info. Take care and stay safe. PS: we have zero snow here in the Ottawa Valley.

Worked for Geneverse for 2+ years, be careful with those panels being permanently mounted outside, Geneverse panels are NOT made to stay outside 24/7 in fact they are only water resistant NOT water proof. Those panels will be shot in no time being mounted outside permanently. Just a heads up. I have burned through well over 8 panels over a two year span. My advise would be grab ANY PANELS besides theirs.

Thanks for the comment. I’m sure it’s good advice for viewers. I installed them this way as a test and they have worked flawlessly for 8 months.
