"Why do I like Dazed and Confused but I don't like this?" Maybe because Dazed is a more accurate mirror for our generation? Graffiti eulogized the pre-Vietnam era's concept of youth, which by the 1990's may as well have been when Shakespeare graduated Ye Olde High Schoole. There were HEAVY reflections of 1970s youth culture in the 90's counter culture, even to the point you could almost confuse eras. If you time traveled back to 1995 in the right spot, you could easily be forgiven for thinking you were in like 1978. Kids blasting "classic rock", wearing bell bottoms, Phish/Grateful Dead culture kind of coming into its mainstream prime. Dazed speaks the same language our generation did where as Graffiti was very specifically talking to our parents.
