I have been watching these candy making videos for a long time. My wife and I finally decided on and agreed to make an online order. As part of the order, we got a small Thanksgiving box and a large Christmas box. I had eaten the cherry drop from the Thanksgiving box and then saw this video post. I had my wife watch the video with me. Then right before the tasting, I told her there was one of these in the Christmas box. She went and got the box and we shared the piece in it almost the exact same time the tasting was on the video. I have to say, these are soo much better than "store bought chocolate covered cherries". Thank you all for your dedication and love you pour into each batch you make. 😋 😋 😋 ❣

In the last couple years, I've met people who eat cornstarch by the spoonful. Almost as an addiction. They specifically say that the crunch it makes is one of the reasons they can't stop doing it. I had no idea. My best friend, her 2 sisters, her mom, 7 of her nieces and 2 of her kids all HAVE to have cornstarch to chomp on. She said she never realized it was weird. Her older relatives all did it also so she never questioned it as not being something that most people do. I found it intriguing so I went to Google. I am white. My best friend and her family are black. After some research, it seems there are many black people who have the same affinity to eating cornstarch. Some of the speculation is that it goes back to when their relatives were slaves and didn't have enough food to feed their families. Thru generations, it has continued thru more habit nowadays than necessity. Eating too much cornstarch can lead to malnutrition bc it fills the tummy but offers little nutrition. I had never heard of it until talking to my friend and searching to see if it's common. My oldest daughter has issues with the texture and the crunch also. She loves the softness but that softness paired with what seems like a "hard" crunch sound bothers her.

IDK if it would help but its an idea that might work to ease the transition of cream out of the creamer to maybe heat up the putty knives in a bowl of hot water each time u go to scoop out the cream when it gets really hard like that plus it wouldn't be a lot of water going into the cream so it wont change the consistency that much if any ......maybe even try heating up the cream too a bit with a hair dryer just to where it eases out better ...hope my ideas work for u … that's torture watching copper scrape that cream out when its super hard like that i say he needs a pay raise on that one lol more gumdrops for cooper lol great video ya'll !!!

that poor kid trying to get the cream out! LOL...but I was wondering, you were talking about adding water etc to make it not as hard, could you use a hydrometer (I think it's called) like they do in maple syrup making to gauge how much water was still in the syrup? You could then gauge how much water you still want in your sugar syrup to keep it from being rock hard. Just a thought. Obv I don't know a thing about candy making....LOL
@barklordofthesith2997
2 жыл бұрын
I think the syrup would be way too thick to get an accurate hydrometer reading. You'd plop it in and it would just stick to wherever you set it by hand. BTW a hydrometer measures the density of a fluid and that reading can be used to determine water content for some things. I use mine to determine the ABV of the beer/wine/cider that i make.

Great vid but, why didn't they remove the cream mixture from the stirrer BEFORE it set? Surely it would have been much easier to remove from something that didn't have all those blades etc in it. Also, random fact. I love cornstarch mixed with water. Found out in my 40s that it's called Oobleck and is a non-Newtonian fluid, which means when you run your fingers slowly through it, it acts like a liquid, but push on it too fast or hard, and it solidifies. Apparently it's something that every school child learns but l didn't so, I'm sharing for anyone who, like me missed out on the joys of playing with Oobleck until adulthood.

I juat found this channel accidentally and I'm so glad I did. Amazing work. Is Cooper a son also ? He's very good at what he does and seems to love it.

Cooper is not related and I recommend you go back to the start and watch them all grow, aswell as the business.
