This needed 3 sessions. Bill is clearly really good at what he does. Another thing which may tie into the bonding boundaries and monitoring is esteem. You need to build that child's self esteem 💯.

There is a documentary about Japanese kids whose parents have to take them to treatment centers because they are addicted to their phones. You need to see how these children convulge because they don't have their phones. They start to shake and get anxiety and hyperventilate. I found it so fascinating how in this generation we now have a new type of addiction.

As someone who has to deal with a family member who is an addict, these conversations mean so much to me but also trigger me. No words can describe what those around an addict have to deal with. My empathy for addicts has run thin. If only their actions only affected them!

I learnt about the experienceof family of addicts from an interview on the channel "unpacked with Relebogile Mabotja" and the episode is called "My child is a drug addict" and it's really great because the family members can also experience symptoms of an addicted etc. Check it out you will not feel alone after.

Bill made us realise that the family and community are so affected that their tolerance expires. And when it does, you simply want to be done with anything that relates to them or the activity. We need to understand that they are more of the victims. May we find ways to deal. P

What this gentleman said about parents being friends with their children is called Enmenshment. That is when parents have very unhealthy relationships with their children eg calling your child your friend which leads to no boundaries. Such parents can be very controlling of their children even when they are adults and this can destroy how these children relate with other people on the outside.
