Niomi, you are an angel. I have so much respect for your kind spirit. You truly embody what it means to be beautiful inside and out. It is so important that you not feel guilty for living the life you do. You have this reach and voice for a reason, and it speaks volumes about how deeply compassionate you are through raising awareness about this heart breaking tragedy. Your voice has a powerful ripple effect. I can only imagine what would happen if every influencer spoke up about these issues. Thank you. I love you.

Niomi you're so amazing. I myself was sitting down yesterday deciding which eye-shadow palette to ask for for Christmas when I heard the news and it makes me so upset to think that there could be another 18 year old girl in Aleppo with the same interests and passions and dreams as me, but while I sat contemplating my eyeshadow, she was terrified that she was going to die. It really hit me hard and I didn't know what I could do to help until now. But I've asked my parents, instead of spending €50 on an eyeshadow palette for me for Christmas, if they would donate that €50 to an organisation that could help the people of Aleppo out. I know €50 might not make a huge difference but its better than nothing. I'm also hoping that the organisation thats sending clothes to Aleppo can be sent clothes from here in Ireland as well as the UK. So thank you Niomi for speaking out about this crisis and providing the information about where we can donate xx

sofhia kaka know what bugs me? Why are all these youtubers with big followings getting backlash when there is 100s upon 100s of celebrities out there who also never mention it. Not mentioning it doesn't mean you're ignoring all knowledge and that it doesn't affect you. Some people aren't educated enough on it therefore find it easier not to speak about it because they are afraid of saying the wrong thing and offending someone. I personally can never make sense of half the things I read therefore don't put an opinion across because I don't fully understand it. Bugs me that people are assuming that people with big followings are ignoring it because they simply don't care when there is such a bigger picture.

Western media dominates global media. There are about a thousand atrocities that happen every year around the world and mainly only the atrocities that occur in western/first world countries reach our ears. Also, this may be harsh to accept, but we really only care about the west. It's important to realize that the reason many countries around the world are unpeaceful, poor, unstable, is because of us (the west). It is not only our moral requirement to help these countries, it is also our debt. We owe these countries aid and help as we started their problems in the first place. This is a reality that is almost never acknowledged let alone accepted. So when and if we as individuals donate or in some way help war-torn countries such as Syria, let's keep in mind that we are not doing a good deed, we are simply settling our debt and somewhat paying for the benefits we have been living and thriving off for so many years. And I think it actually is extremely important to read into where you are donating. While you may think you are doing at least no harm by donating, it is possible that you may actually be fueling terrorism through this action. Please help and please talk about Syria. This is not about us or our privilege. Regardless of the reason, innocent people dying is not acceptable.

Man, as an Arab Muslim I truuuuuuuuuly want to say thank you for talking about it. We are quite used to not being in the news unless it's bad, and that's just the way it is. Idk why our blood seems very cheap, but if it wasn't for oil, no one would acknowledge our existence. Syria has been in a state of revolution since 2011, but the past few days have witnessed a serious crackdown on Aleppo, and unfortunately for Syrians, since the world cannot gain anything from it, it turns a blind eye. Having you speak on it and hopefully raising awareness to your following is really helpful and appreciated. May we see a day in the future the world talks of the middle east in a way better state.

Dear Niomi, I can't tell you how happy it made me that you chose to talk about Aleppo in your vlog. I've seriously been feeling the same way for a couple of days now, and I feel so helpless and angry. I've been crying a lot and I also started crying watching this, because I hate not being able to do anything but pray and spread awareness on social media. But what I'm feeling is nothing compared to what the innocent people of Aleppo and Syria are going through. I was really hoping that more people with a big following would talk about this major issue, so I can't tell you how much I appreciate you spreading so much awareness. I hope and pray that one day we all can live in a world where we don't weigh the importance of lives depending on nationality, religion etc., and where our little children get to live in peace. Thank you

I'm so glad you mentioned Aleppo. A lot of people talk about the politics involved or talk about who's right and wrong but when it comes to it; its just normal people, civilians, who get affected the most. Either by being displaced or killed. It's mostly children who are affected the most, a lot of them are just traumatised to even cry, it's truly heartbreaking that in this century most countries are just standing by and just watching. Hopefully this war comes to an end soon but to be brutally honest i don't think Asad will stop and until he has eliminated the civilians of Aleppo unless he is stopped.

I think donating to the doctors is amazing as at the moment there are no working hospitals in Aleppo ie they have all been bombed. The last hospital was bombed last month, had mostly children in incubators and the elderly, every started running until a doctor realised there was no other safe place or hospital to run to so they just stayed there and the doctors tried to save the babies and help the injured. A doctor should never have to weigh up which patients life is more important but that's the choice they had due to the resources and the lack of doctors. Sorry for the rant but i hope someone reads this and donates or just spread awareness like Niomi has said. Something is better than nothing! #savealeppo

But I would love for people to know that this has been going on for 6 years, and it's not just Aleppo,it's in every other city. The truth is that terrorists are being taken out of Aleppo now so the foreign media has been trying to paint a false image of a burning Aleppo ,when in fact it's being cleared from terrorism. So many of the pictures that you're seeing of injured kids and infants don't even belong to syrian people. things have been much worst for Aleppo in the past 4 years, they're getting better now please don't be fooled by the media. do your own research.

THANK YOU FOR TALKING ABOUT ALEPPO. For me, it's been the most disturbing part of watching vlogmas this year-I go from watching youtubers fly to places like Germany and Paris and NYC to reading articles about the continued death toll in Aleppo. The divide is so brutally wide and it is painful to see. The truth is - YOU HAVE SO MUCH POWER. Really, youtubers as a community can utilize their platforms to have an incredible impact. Using that privilege to further good in our world and to shed light on issues that need more attention is a responsibility that privilege brings. I would suggest taking a more direct approach - getting in contact with leaders of these organizations and asking them how it would be best to help (besides just funding their efforts). I would find refugees and give a voice to their experiences. I would also suggest finding people who are familiar with the issues surrounding the inability of refugees who have escaped to properly continue their lives elsewhere; the stigma behind the immigration of refugees is insane and helping to educate more people about that issue would be helpful. You CAN help! Again, thanks for talking about it in your vlog. No one asked or expected you to and it's always brave when anyone does something like that.

WARNING:IF YOU DO NOT LIKE READING LONG COMMENTS DONT READ THIS!!!!!!! Nkomo you have always been one of my favourite youtubers and now I can definitely say that you ARE Amy favourite youtubers. You have such a pure heart. You have cried which just shows how much this means to you you and how touching this topic is. I would like to suggest that you zoe and Tanya make a video on this topic, it would be very interesting. But you already made a notice not to make this about you crying about lepo. So I would like to say something as well: Why should these people suffer. Not only adults, children even young babies are living this difficult life. Sometimes we sit at home on the telly badmouthing our life because our parents have told us we can't go to a party. But think of the lives of those people that have to live with bombs exploding every second of there life. They have already started counting down the number of day till they might get struck out. You guys cannot imagine how lucky we are. They cannot even flee from their country. They cannot escape from the death trap they have got involved in. And that too it was not their choice. Did they have a choice no they we forced to live this life. But the thing I am trying to get out there is that why should we just sit around. We have to do something to help. Imagine sitting under a piece of wood listening to bombs explode every second and gunshots being shot every millisecond. Why should we live such a luxurious life while we know there are people out there who are living in a place nearly equal to hell. Right this second there is probably a gun being shot and a bomb being explode. I am going to research more on this topic and maybe you should too. Naomi I really hope you see this. And everyone please contribute. Pls donate. One pound will do wonders. Niomi I really hope you read this and maybe might replu

I think she was alluding to Hitler's rise to power that took place over multiple years. The UK and US only stepped in years after those atrocities started taking place. The world didn't see it as a developing tragedy until it was too late. That's not to say that the brave men and women who helped put an end to WWII didn't do the right thing. The government just took a long time to allow them to help. Even now, many British and American citizens are appalled with our governments and media outlets for their destructive behavior regarding Syria and other conflicts in the Middle East. It's just difficult to enact change when you're an ordinary citizen, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't try.

I liked the spontaneous beginning of this blog and I really appreciate you talking about Aleppo. I feel so lost and sad about it all, I've donated but it doesn't feel like enough. It makes me cry too

This is just so lovely! As a Muslim seeing a person who has such a huge platform and so many followers on social media, standing for simply what is humane, is just amazing! I thank you for being so real and down to earth, addressing the real life issues we face as humanity! I am sure you will have a way more greater future, beautiful souls like you must be up successful and ... just ... real! I honestly never comment anywhere, but I just had to say what I feel now. Thank you , Niomi! 💛

thank you niomi for talking bout this.. unlike other mainstream youtubers who completely ignore the topic. its not something we should be ignoring and rather talking about and bringing awareness to a situation like this to support those who are in our need. so again, thank you.

Thank you, Niomi. I was so angry knowing that people with 1 million + followers are not talking. The truth is, sadly, that we cannot all go and help directly, but when we have internet 'celebrities' who reach a following of 11 million people- a huge huge margin- acting as though nothing is happening, it's so frustrating. Viewers who watch these channels need to be informed about the crisis in order for the world to be better, even if it's only by a tiny bit. Can you imagine the benefit big youtubers could make just by mentioning how we can help? It would be incredible; But they just don't seem to plea for help, talk about donations or discuss the issue and it's so so frustrating seeing it. I respect you so much for actually discussing this in an intelligent way. Thank you.

I hope your voice can help Aleppo and all of the middle east because people are dying in Syria, Iraq and a lot of other countries in the middle east and we all know America can stop it , i lived through war in iraq when i was only 5 years old and i hope no one see what i saw or hear what i heard , and i was lucky to survive this and all i want to do is to raise awareness and tell the whole world what is happening to us, it hurts to see your country is dying and you can't do anything , and its hard to live and knowing your life might END any second but you still go out and have fun we try to live a normal life we build malls and try to evolve but they destroy and kill , but we don't give up we build it again and go out like nothing happened , thats how we are used to , but is that how we WILL used to forever ???!!!

finally someone with a voice trying to raise actual awareness. people so often just talk about Kylie jenner or Kanye and Taylor feud or whatever other insignificant silly things and give it if you mention these actual issues saying "not everything has to be political" the problem is there actually isnt enough coverage. priorities.
