Hey everyone, thanks for your comments on this video so far! I did want to add that this is another introductory video to my perspective on revolutionary filmmaking. I'll continue to make videos similar to this until I cover all the topics I want to. I do plan on making long videos that break down my theory! Until then, watch the video i have on my theory now! kzitem.info/news/bejne/t6howIGImJqoZ4I Ask me any questions on anything I may not have explained well :o

good video - a few short criticisms: would highly recommend either getting a pop filter or experimenting with the way you deliver to mic. also agree with your point about artists parading their work around as something its not, but i take some issue with the way it's presented. i think that calling anything not necessarily revolutionary "mediocre" doesn't really help anyone, and that point might be better expressed differently. the conclusion feels a bit cut short. beyond that, pretty much everything is great.

Just found a new youtube channel to subscribe to! Congratulations on your new endeavour! Would urge to also not to neglect black/brown/asian/female masters (Ousmane Sembene, Bong Joon Ho, Agnes Varda, Mira Nair etc.)

Hey, good video. i too would categorize myself as an artist who tries to revolutionize my craft and reach for a higher level of creativity and storytelling through experimentation and innovation. My most immediate critism of this video is obviously that what you are describing is incredibly subjective, which posses a real challenge for me as a viewer to truly resonate with the message. you leave it unclear what you really wanna say with this video besides the title. I would make a longer video on this topic where you go in depth on the exact reasoning you have for this claim of "needing a higher standard" i would also love to see you give examples of what you believe to be masterpieces vs average moives, and maybe with that show an older movie (pre 1960's) which you would define as mediocre and then compare it to a modern "average" movie and see the similarities they have in their mediocraty and visa versa with an older and a modern masterpiece. also as a last note, this is just a personal recommandation from me to you, try giving the manga "Goodbye Eri" a chance, since it dabbles in similar themes as this obscure concept of "revolutionary art". it is also rather short and should take less than an hour to read.
