I’m so happy for you and your new opportunities. PLEASE CONTINUE making videos, at whatever pace works in to your schedule. Your video content and presentation are always a treat. You have a rare ability to be so naturally interesting. I apologize for not watching more of your videos, but one problem I have is that KZitem has sooooo many interesting and educational videos. It’s easy to get overwhelmed and miss some old favorites when you stumble onto something new. I’ll have to make certain I watch yours more often. After all, I truly do enjoy them. Best Wishes with your new success ❤️

One of the primary draws of your channel for me has been the combination of new recipes and ingredients and their cultural context: your family making ma'amoul for holidays; your take on game-day nachos with your brother; your videos from Palestine; getting a peek at your grandmother's birthday party; and, of course, any video with the lovely Mama Vera or Grandma Reva. I have greatly enjoyed your videos that help me navigate in Middle Eastern markets, introduce me to bakeries and restaurants I didn't know were in my area (hello, Little Arabia in the OC!) or use ingredients or products with which I might be unfamiliar. There are a lot of cooking content creators out there, but what has kept me here is your unique perspective and enthusiasm for sharing a bit of your world. In response to your questions: I'm all for expanding the scope of your food content. I am vegetarian and may skip over videos that seem very meat-centric, but always appreciate your suggestions for veg/vegan alternatives. While I am personally not as interested in videos specifically about weight loss or health & beauty, I do generally prefer more healthful recipes, and savory over sweet. Your videos with featured chefs can be a bit hit and miss for me - it all depends on the person and what they're demonstrating (more hit than miss, though!). Re. ideas for new content: One of the areas I've been interested in more lately is meal planning/prepping. I'm always looking for inspiration to find combinations of dishes that I can make in batch for dinners, leftovers, and lunches. As for specific recipe ideas, I do love soups in the cooler months and have been craving some ash-e-reshteh lately. I found a recipe (which I'm trying out tonight), but will likely be on the hunt for an ash-e-jo recipe soon, too... Most of the new cooking video content I'm exposed to tends to happen on Instagram (even though I hate the quick "reels" format for this kind of content), and the suggestion algorithms there and here on YT are so tightly constrained to the point of aggravation. Weirdly, when I went looking a bit more closely on your YT channel page I was shocked to see how many YT Shorts you've posted! I can't recall if I've ever seen one recommended to me. What gives, YT?!? I do hope you won't close down the channel entirely. I greatly appreciate what you do, and even a bit of Blanche less frequently posted is better than none at all :)

Hello dear, for some reason I just saw your epic comment just today! Thank you so much, that really helps me understand why you have connected with the content and it fills my heart =) I feel you on the guest chefs. I post those in between the videos I have time for, as my main job is at NBC and that is the content I am doing most weeks. However, I will try to focus on everyday meal planning whenever I can. The algorithms on YT are insane and frustrating for sure! As a thank you for your support I wanted to send you something in the mail--message me your address on Patreon if you get the chance! "My family's secret garlicky turmeric meddle eastern rice recipe " was the episode that made me a fan. For me, it was your way of speaking ( "down to earth ") but with a feeling and knowledge (" out of the world") for me anyway. "Dude," i think that once someone finds the channel, no matter the reason , for a rice recipe, how to make something, drinks, whatever, I think they'll be back like me. 7 years ago, you made that video. I just saw it 4 days ago . I subscribed .Not for the recipe but for the vibe. I don't have a channel, and I really don't watch cooking videos religiously. So, this is what I got . Re-post all your videos and give them new life, play with the name and keywords, and if it picks up steam, make more videos or just make them anyway. Who are the videos for, really? for what are they for?. One last thing: Have you tried making a twerking video? Those videos get a lot of views.💭🙃

Dear Blanche, I have enjoyed your channel for many years now and I appreciate your request for feedback on your channel. In my humble opinion, you should do whatever makes you happy and fulfills your dreams. We, your subscribers and remote friends, will still follow you. You are very talented, creative and a natural when it comes to being on your channel or the regular TV shows. Your personality is perfectly suited for this medium. Aside from your new endeavors and expanding your horizons (which are quite entertaining and useful as well), please continue your original mission: Introducing people to your rich heritage and the amazing Middle Eastern cuisine. Your idea of expanding the recipe spectrum to include Mediterranean recipes is an excellent idea (and not to forget those are healthy and have less fat by nature!). Many of those dishes are related and yet are different or have been sometimes modified by each country. You'll be surprised (or maybe not!) to learn that, for example, many southern Italian but especially Sicilian recipes, have lots of dishes (main courses as well as desserts!) that share an Arabic ancestry and are quite related and taste familiar. Caponata is a prime example (the eggplants and raisins are a major giveaway!) And no, I am not Italian...just a world traveler..😀; Same goes for Greek and especially Turkish recipes. To sum it up, you're doing just fine! Just keep adding the recipes and do whatever satisfies your creative and inviting nature. Shukran and thank you! PS: Did you post yet one of my favorites? (Musakhan?) My jar of Sumac keeps reminding me.
@blanchetv
Жыл бұрын
Can't thank you enough for your well thought out and kind response! I appreciate your support and will continue to post recipes that hopefully inspire you whenever I can =) Yes I have heard there is a connection between Sicily and Arab culture, and your example of caponata is a great example of that! IT'S VERY HARD TO FIND GOOD, AUTHENTIC MIDDLE EASTERN RECIPES.. So please don't go away!! 🙏🥰 P.S. A suggestion: If you run out of Palestinian recipes from your hometown, try to find out how other towns make same dishes, since each state, village or town have their own twist. Get me? 😉 Also, find out middle eastern dishes from other arab countries..and not just from Palestine.. We love midle eastern (Arabic if you will) food in general!

Your channel is lovely! I hope you’ll continue, but if you’re busy just post less often. Arabic food is time consuming, and people are becoming simpler in what they make. With the cost of food rising it would be nice if you focused on simple dishes, quick and affordable to make. As you said, you’ve got a great library of recipes, and I especially love the old religious/Christmas dishes and foods which are classical, because I learn about traditional customs, along with the recipes. Your channel should have grown leaps and bounds by now, but we all know why it hasn’t, which has absolutely nothing to do with you or your wonderful content.

Hi Blanche! I think it would be a mistake to hang up your Feast From Middle East. We like seeing you in your home environment. I think you should do some of both instead of doing too much of one. I believe we relate to what is laid back and the real of your home life. You don't want your channel to get to commercialized meaning getting mostly caught up in California life show that you do. Show more of the real life things you do at home or even like you running errands. A day in your life. It's ok if you are in jeans and laid back with us.

@Feast In the Middle East Blanche, I'm only trying to help that is all. I understand about your job and getting paid. Sometimes, as the saying goes, killing two birds with one stone doesn't always work. I believe you need to keep the two separate. Concentrate on the California Life separate from your Feast in The Middle East channel. Show your subscribers only your FIME channel. I'm going to be honest even though you showed nice things and food through your California Life, I lost interest because it was like watching one of the morning news Channel. I believe if you just concentrated on your FIME channel and be more laid back to where your subscribers can relate to your better you will see what a difference and your channel will grow. Show you and your Mom shopping at stores together maybe disagreeing on stuff, playful, wearing jeans, hair tied back. See, Blanche this way you want only have income coming in from California Life which is a real job, but you will start seeing your channel grow to over 100 subscribers. Also, maybe show us planting a garden and using those vegetables to make your fabulous dishes. Also, even though you have a great cook book, people still like to see the recipe you make in the description. This will not stop people from buying your book. People want to see your bad days as well as your good days. Like this one channel, the lady started crying about how hard things had been for her lately, and she got lots of clicks on her page. The subscribers don't necessarily have cream and peaches Life, and they want to know that you can off days as well. I only mean to be helpful Blanche as you have a great channel...it just needs to be tweaked. Think about this....why do you think some TV shows last longer than others? Something to think about. Also, take a look at some of the other channels that have 1 million subscribers. You could have 200,000 by next year if you take heed to what I'm trying to tell you. Only trying to help❤️

When time permits I think you should spend more time talking about Palestinian current issues, history, culture, and food. Giving enough time to those topics may require a lot more time than you currently have. But maybe in the future when things slow down you can do more of that. Unfortunately we have a lot of journalists and news agencies in the USA but very little accurate news coverage of what is and has been happening in Palestine.

Thanks Matthew, I hope to do that in the future, but I am thinking of devoting an entire different channel to that. It seems from past experience that the cooking crowd and political issues do not mesh very well. I haven't given up on that goal though, when I do it, I want to do it big! =)

I made your Persian Ice Cream for my very Norwegian dad and he said "this is the best damn Ice cream I've ever had". I don't care if your cadence drops down to 1 time a month or 1 time a quarter or 1 time a year! You are a treasure on KZitem!

I love the videos with your Mom and brother. I would love more Mediterranean dishes with a bend for diabetes. Being a diabetic it is hard to find dishes that are not loaded with carbs or sugars. I would love for you to focus on the instant pots and use of air fryers for middle eastern foods. I have watched your videos and you do a wonderful job of explaining and making the cooking fun. Shakshuka has really upgraded my breakfast routine. Thank you.

Do what is best for you, but you are so appreciated! My favorites have always involved your mom but I enjoy everything you post. I’m more at home with KZitem than other social platforms. Please continue to create and share content here. I’d like to see more recipes involving quinoa, chickpeas and pretty much anything Mediterranean. Thank you for all you do!

Re what I’d like to see, more recipes please. Doesn’t have to be middle eastern food but can be anything. Not really looking for fitness or nutrition tips - just really good food recipes. 😁 thanks again!!!

Hi Blanche. I have heart disease, pre-diabetes, and I'm obese. I found your channel a few months ago when I searched for videos to aid me in making healthy life changes. I enjoy making healthy recipes and last month received my first order from Al'ard USA after watching one of your videos. My goal is to lose 95 pounds and exercise consistently for the rest of my life. I'd love to see more vegan recipes, grocery hauls, videos featuring your Mom, videos featuring Middle Eastern health and beauty products, and videos about life in general for Middle Eastern persons living in the Middle East and in the USA (I enjoy learning about other cultures). I enjoy your channel and if you're unable to continue making videos, I'm grateful for the treasure trove of videos that you'll leave behind.

Middle eastern food in Victoria brought new flavours and enjoyments. The added benefit is it showed us how our multicultural state thrived on all different cuisines. Being predominantly vegetarian and lambatarian (yes my new word) it was bliss to go to a Lebanese, Turkish restaurant to eat.

Hi, I'm actually new to your channel, just subscribed in the past few months. My reason for coming was I'm trying to learn more middle eastern and Mediterranean recipes as I find them in general healthier than American food. I would love you to make more videos on tasty healthy recipes. I also think your own unique creations based upon middle eastern ingredients would be interesting as well as food reviews. Thank you for taking the time to hear what the people want, blessings.
