Sinigang- this version is our personal recipe Oil for sauteeing 2-3 tomatoes, sliced into quarters 2 cloves of garlic 1 medium onion 1 pack of Sinigang mix ( preferably with gabi- if you want the soup to be a little thick). But if not, take the plain sinigang mix. Knorr is the best brand for me 1 kilo of pork cubes ( you can use spareribs, too.) 2 tbsps fish sauce or patis Long string beans - cut 1 inch long Gabi or taro- peeled and quartered Radish - sliced obliquely Kangkong (swamp cabbage) Saute the garlic in oil, do not brown. Add the onions and saute till transparent. Add in the tomatoes saute until soft. Add your pork and brown on all sides. When pork is seared on all sides, add water until you have the pork submerged. A bit more if you want more broth. You can add the gabi or taro to soften with the pork. Let it boil until the pork is tender, removing any scum that may form on the surface.. Once the pork is tender, add the radish. Once the broth simmers, add the string beans and let it simmer again . You can now add the sinigang mix and about 2 tbsps of patis or fish sauce. Let it boil again. Add one siling pangsigang ( cut in half,) or what we call finger chili pepper. Adjust seasoning, add salt if needed. Add in the kankong and switch off the flame and cover the pot to allow the remaining heat to cook the kangkong. Can be served with a side dipping sauce of patis and calamansi ( Philippine lemon)

Look for Knorr Tamarind Soup Mix, it's an easy go to powder when cooking, or Mama Sita's sinigang sampalok mix. Sinigang ingredients: Boil pork or short beef ribs (water must be atleast an inch higher than the meat) 1 sliced onion 2 tomatoes quatered 3 spoons of fish sauce 2 green chili 2 red chili cut 2 pieces taro gabi(your choice, makes the sauce a tad bit thicker) Bok choy, green bean string And then the Tamarind mix, once you add the Tamarind mix boil for 5 more minutes Adobo: 5 garlic cloves diced into the pot with the hot oil Half an onion if its big(sliced) till brown then add 4 chicken thighs 4 chicken legs 2 cups of soy sauce 1 and a half cup water 2 tbs of black pepper Bay leaves(your choice) Wait till the sauce starts getting thick, or if you don't want a thick sauce wait like 5-10 mins after you add the pepper and you can serve it

For example there is bangus na sisig which is a milk fish version i bet uoud love and for sinigang my mom uses salmon for the protein. The sour flavor comes from tamarind which is a sour, sticky, pod-like fruit. Sometimes people use lemongrass or a different herb to make it sour. Milkfish is called that name because it seems to produce a milk-like ad creamy flavor when cooked, especially that belly area that everyone would almost always pick that first in parties. Kare-kare comes with fish or shrimp paste (bagoong) and usually when eating, you'd put some rice on a spoon, top that rice with some peanut sauce, add a bit of that bagoong, cut up some of the meat and the flavor will just come together. Sisig tastes best eaten with a nice mug of beer. Glad you guys enjoyed the food!

Sinigang with Rice - Tamarind has a tangy taste. Adobo (soysauce, vinegar, sugar). Then the sisig is more like a food with beer cause its grilled. :)

i love how you guys genuinely appreciate our culture, I'm just so sick of influencers using our culture as a way to get clout, and I can tell that the both of u aren't those kind of people, thankfully. I really hope you guys try out other cultures cause i'm actually very interested in your content, love u guys

You guys have the most positive and you both are never hesitant to taste everything. Your reactions are my favorite. don't worry about filipino-baiting because watching foreign people try our food gives us satisfaction lmao. I watch you both on tiktok so much but haven't actually checked your youtube channel.

I am happy that you like Filipino food. Sinigang is slow cooked food to extract flavor. It is either pork, fish, or prawns. The sour taste is from the tamarind, a common asian ingredient that makes the food sour. You can buy tamarind powder in asian groceries. The fried milk fish is marinated in lemon/lime, soy sauce, garlic, onion, ginger, peppercorns. The kare-kare uses peanut butter and ground toasted rice the color is from annato seeds.
