As much as we are looking forward to similar adventures soon, we aren’t looking forward to those nights where all hands are on deck to help move and re anchor ⚓️

I only say front and steer anker together in such spots are helpful.

I’m yeah stern anchor would have been good but it’s about 120ft deep at our keels so getting any workable scope on the anchor would need at least 360ft of line and more like 600ft as it wouldn’t be chain. Sadly we don’t carry that much spare line for stern anchoring

Cheers Stephen. I always smile when you drop us a comment or message through patreon. Takes me back to a very fun bonfire evening when we first hung out. Will you be making it to Annapolis this year? I know it’s not straight forward for you sometimes to get to the land of Stars and Stripes.

So, curious, and keep in mind, I have no boating experience,,, but, why not drop the anchor off the stern to 'lock' you in between two points? Was it too deep behind Indioko?
@RedSeas
8 күн бұрын
That’s a great question. And we actually considered it but, yes, it was something like 40m deep all around that coral head so we didn’t have enough line to safely stern anchor. Generally you want to anchor with a scope of 3 or 4 to 1 so we would have needed a minimum of 120m of anchor rode (heavy line). Unfortunately we don’t carry that much so we didn’t have that option. We thought about running a line to one of the Pearl floats too but didn’t want to risk damaging the farm.

Sorry to hear that. We aim to be on the “realistic” end of the spectrum when it comes to episode titles for sure. Would be interested to know what you would have titles this episode?

An other great episode, looking forward to the next to see how all that works. Question, your screens at the helm seem very bright or is that just the camera?
@RedSeas
8 күн бұрын
Cheers! Good question. The camera makes the screens look much brighter than they are because it’s so dark, we have to push up the camera exposure to see our ugly faces and that makes the screens appear like the sun. 😂

...odd my previous comments vanished in the past ten mins.. i did add a French Polynesian dance competition link.🤔 Which is damn annoying as its a major part of Polynesian social life. You have parlay revival heading your way and sailing Nahoa is in the French Islands . Watch out for two ginger haired tiny tots ...
