I've been to Malta 4 times and will go again for my birthday this year. It's the friendliest, most beautiful country on earth imo. I love that around every corner there's something beautiful awaiting you. The churches make me cry they are so gorgeous and I'm not even religious. If I could move there and live forever, I would.

4 times that’s amazing! Malta was never really on our radar until our friends were visiting and we were absolutely blown away! The sea is just better there I feel. Could not have been more impressed. I know we went during off-season but we were surprised that it was as affordable as it was! Thanks a million for watching our videos!

Thanks for sharing your experience, and thanks for appreciating what makes this island(s) a marvel. May I, as a local, point out that you have passed meters away from cultural, architectural, and religious treasures and (seemingly unaware of them) missed them. When you entered “ta’ Giezu” church, immediately upon turning right, you passed (what is locally revered as) a miraculous Crucifix. This Crucifix is extremely loved by the locals because it has a story attached to it. When the sculptor came to make the head of this Crucifix, he felt confused and tired, and decided to leave this task for another day. Returning to this work, the Sculpture was complete with its Head in place! Also, that church (with the bells ringing) is Saint John’s co-cathedral. Suffice it to say that some behold this church as among the most beautiful in the world. Only experiencing could do justice to appreciating this Baroque magnificence. (Hopefully for you, for the next time).

@@HeresGoodTravel Thanks. Please make it a point to visit this cathedral, and the Caravaggio masterwork (The beheading of Saint John) in an adjacent building. And, if you haven’t yet, visit the old capital of the island - Mdina (The Silent City).

Sorry man, I’m kind of being overly critical. I’m glad you guys had an amazing time on the island. My grandfather left Malta at age 18 in 1942 and started a life in Canada. We all live here still and I’ve visited Malta a few times. Fun fact: he was a little boy during world war 2. For protection from enemy bombs, he lived in a cave with his family (and many others) under the capital city. They were down there for 6 years and lived off government rations. You probably walked on top of the cave while touring Valletta.

Correction. The Queen didn't give Malta its independence because of how well Malta fought during the second world War. Malta was awarded the George Cross which is on the Maltese flag. Anyways, $30 a night is a great deal when you compare a night in London. Glad you liked Malta by the way. I'm half Maltese living next to Valletta. 🎉.. Church bells chime every 15 minutes.
