We love our WeeRoll! We purchased from the old regime, but are thrilled with our choices. Super lightweight and never leak is a huge step towards peace of mind. Ours is 14' (with the 2 ft nose), 6'4" wide (approx), 6" height and 1500 lbs before our build. We will be at the June Rendezvous in Arkansas - I cant wait!

I love my weeroll. I've camped off grid in Maine, and with electric hook ups at east coast campgrounds. It's even been up to Prince Edward Island, across that 11 mile bridge with some blustery winds. Best thing is you can build it out how ever you want it. I've even used it to move, hauling all my 'stuff'.

I built my own tiny home trailer for 9k and saved 9k in rent in my first year living out of it on a farm which means it paid for itself in the first year. I’m building a shop so I can build more of these for other people. I’ve had so many people ask me if I could build them one that I decided I will do just that. Hopefully this summer I can be ready to build some of these for other people. I’ve been living in mine now making sure it’s exactly what it needs to be.

So, if it costs you $9k to make yours, you’d have to add on labor before selling it. That makes buying a high quality WeeRoll a good deal, because it’s aluminum.
@TinyGoHomes

@@MySonsMother yeh it’s worth 15-20. But it’s also built exactly how I wanted it. Extra insulation, wood stove, diesel heater, 42 inch tv, metal door, galvanized roof. Mine is wood encased in aluminum. I’ve heard they make good trailers. I just wanted something more specific. Not camper but a mini home on wheels.

Just imagine the level of thermal transmissivity through all that aluminum! I wonder how much of the polystyrene's value is short-circuited by that? Definitely a trailer for the South, and with side-mounted ladder racks to accommodate solar because nothing is supposed to put any type of hole through the roof or it voids the leakage warranty (last I looked). Their website shows the maximum size of a Nomad is only 16 ft.

@@NoZenith yes, they did. I ordered the steel. I had to delay mine. When I went to get it they no longer had steel and I had to get aluminum. Then the new owners took over and I got the the aluminum, because that’s all they had. The steel were $4k before Covid, then almost $7k during Covid. The aluminum was more. I bought mine at $14k, and now they are more.

I would like chemical free. But aluminum for heat and rain sound are concerns. I'm chemically injured and mold injured, which is why I ended up in my own custom built trailer. I have a 6x12 that I've had to get a rubber roof to lay on top to dappen the rain noise here in Seattle.

I don't remember seeing anything like what you're referring to. As far as heat vs aluminum, we don't remember anyone complaining about heat transfer on the 2 or 3 WeeRoll walk thru videos at our last Tiny House Adventures Rendezvous in Pickensville Alabama. Everyone was very happy with their WeeRoll trailers and eager to show them.

@@billanddeb At 15:21 of the video your are pointing up talking about the trailer. you can see several inches of the inside of the wall, framing and roof metal all the way around the top and it has no insulation board like she mentioned. that added with an aluminum floor with no insulation below would make for a horribly cold floor and cold spots, unlike a standard cargo trailer that has a wooden floor with at least some R value. aluminum has the opposite effect as insulation. that's why it's used as heatsinks to remove heat. I'm not trying to put down what they build. I'm just pointing out what may have been a simple yet extremely important part of a trailer.
@billanddeb

That's where all of the wiring is ran. As mentioned in the video, there is a metal cove that covers the wiring, however, it can be removed, allowing easy access to wiring, in case it needs repairs or you want to add something. We're well aware of how a typical Cargo Trailer is constructed. We too have a similar setup in our cargo trailer conversion. Our first trailer did have a wood subfloor and no insulation. We spent an entire winter in NW Arkansas with many morning lows in the single digits and we were never cold. Yes, the all aluminum floor will naturally be colder in cold climates and warmer in warm climates. However, if you noticed how the interlocking floor goes together, you would see that makes for a very strong as well as light floor. In addition, the way the floor is constructed, it would be very easy for a DIYer to insulate the floor from underneath. As far as the upper corners are concerned, I did not see the cove moulding that covers that. I don't know if the cove moulding is insulated or not, but the fact remains there needs to be access to wiring for a multitude of reasons. For example, I've seen several videos where the builder wired his trailer then installed closed cell spray foam insulation, covering all of the wiring. What if a short developed or (heaven forbid) a wire broke under stress. How to you find it if it's all covered up?? Of course then here's the worst scenario of all,,,,,,a faulty wire that was inaccessible caused a fire.
@billanddeb
3 ай бұрын
Please don't get me wrong. A WeeRoll would not work for us either. However, as with all "cargo style" trailers, there is a certain amount of fabrication the purchaser will need to perform to fit their particular needs. WeeRoll trailers are definitely quality built, but they are not "turn key". If you'll remember, at near the beginning of the video, Daisy stated they get the trailer to certain point for the new owner to do their build out.
@dionwatters992

@@billanddeb The wall could be insulated in each cavity between the frame sections and the wire still has several inches that is covered in the trim that covers that section. most of the wires are not in the wall cavity that the insulation belongs in. the trim piece in the finished trailer sits on a 45 degree angle between the wall and roof. that's the void for wires to be ran and would not affect the installation of insulation behind it. If someone is to pay around $20k, you should at least get the insulation that you are paying for.
