Telling the world that a food eaten by the majority of the people of the country you're visiting, "disgusting" is extremely unacceptable. You even spat it out in front of the camera and included the footage in your video. Saying things like "Why do people eat this" and such, I'm speechless. You're unlucky if this is the first video that Malaysians just happen to watch from your channel because you're certainly not getting MY subscription. Yeah, I'm Malaysian and I LOVE DURIANS. Don't like it? Just say you don't. Disapproving of its taste? Just don't bother eating it again. Having an opinion is nothing wrong but straight up saying it's disgusting, is plain rude.

I'm a Sarawakians and i am so glad that you enjoyed your stay while in Borneo. Keep making videos about your stay in Malaysia. Don't let the criticism turn you off. I get you. My boyfriend is a French. There is one time I asked him to try dodol (which is made of Durian) and he don't like it. When it's my turn to try his traditional meal. I did the same thing 😂 well it's not a revenge but it's just happened to be. So I guess all of us are in the same page. Just that most of us don't record it and upload it in KZitem or anywhere. Just that..Asian people are more conservative and polite (they avoid to discriminate or hurts the others feelings) while the western culture are more open.

Sarawak and Sabah are the only states in Malaysia which has Good Friday as a public holiday as it they are a Christian majority states. Easter isn't eating chocolate eggs, it's celebrated with prayers and joy at church. Hokkaido tarts are Japanese and not Malaysian. Also is there the need to overact with the durian? I find vegemite just as vile and revolting but find not need to spit it out in video. I was enjoying you vlog until now.

Erm, for your info, durian is a must try food when you travel to Malaysia. If they didn't try the durian, that's no point for traveling! This is jUST like 'I've been to Japan but never tried their sushi!' They tried to gain the experience from it since durian for them is an exotic fruit, and is expensive! AND most importantly, they tried it and gave comments whether they like it or not. I'm a Malaysian but I found durian is disgusting. This fruit is either you like it or you hate it. Just need to tell you, THEY FUCKIN TRIED!!
@booboyize

No need to use the f word okk.. no need to be sooooo impress by these ppl, these ppl are so sarcastic towards everythg. By the way I m used to westerner cause i m married to one, we have some good acquaintance & also some rubbish/ cheap type, who belittle Asians, condemning us .. & i wonder why they are still here. Some so cheap, that they always self invite themselves to our dinner but will never do any for others. Be proud of your own race & culture...
@mayann2009
7 жыл бұрын
booboyize well, saying about cheap, Asians are cheapskate too. Don't criticize just only one single race. We are all humans and all humans are the same. Cheap? All people love stuff in cheap prices. And belittle Asians? Dude, some asians hate westerners too. Plus they didn't say it as some kind of offense, they just tell the truth! Take an example, if someone gave you a blue cheese with maggots, what will you say? For me, it will be like, eww, I'm so sorry I cannot eat it. It's disgusting. It's the same for westerners for eating durian for the first time, if they don't like it. And moreover, I'm proud of my race and culture, but I respect others as well. No need for you to say. I just don't get it why some people were triggered when they were just filming and having some fun and they don't mean anything towards to the locals. And just because of they said the durian is disgusting... It's just their opinion though. By the way, I need to face westerners everyday too bro!
@booboyize
7 жыл бұрын
I was alright with your opinion, but what piss me off is that you say th f word. I have daughters your age, true what you say but how many videos have i 've seen abt their disgust of the fruit....enough is enough, try somethg else maybe uncooked belacan or cencalok ( i love these ). By the way i m not a bro, im a woman old enough to be your mother ok...
@mayann2009
7 жыл бұрын
booboyize ooh, sorry but judging by your name sis, it kinda looks like a male username. I thought you were a male. And um, I dunno what is your daughter's age, I don't know but I didn't say out my age. But nah doesn't matter. I maybe used an f word, but it just normal, just how often and how seldom you use it. If that f word triggered you, then I'm sorry, but I just can't stand people criticizing each other. We are all the same. That's why I was triggered when I saw some criticism in the comment section as they didn't mean anything.

hello! i totally amazed with this video. Here is TOP 10 food that you should try in Malaysia: 1) tapioca with honey bee (traditional food but i can say it has been forgotten these days) 2) Fried Banana (Pisang Goreng in Malaysia) 3) Keropok Lekor 4) Nasi Lemak (For sure you gonna love this dish) 5) fried Jack Fruit (Basically jack fruit, and Malaysian really love to eat this "snack" while having tea - you probably should try this. In Malaysia it is known as Cempedak Goreng) Cempedak is Jack Fruit and goreng is Fried) 6) Cendol (If you still in Malaysia, cendol is a common food. Everybofy loves it) 7) Popiah (A roll with sweet sauce, sprouts, in the roll. Totally delicious) 8) Gulai Tempoyak ikan patin (it is actually using Fermented durian to make this delicious meal. The best thing about this meal, it is originated from Pahang. You should plan your journey to Pahang and taste this delicious meal) 9) Lepat Pisang (Actually this food considered as snack to us. It using banana and banana leaf as its wrap. 10) Number 10 is hard for me to choose. But i will go for "CAKOI". If you got a chance to go to Pasar Malam (Night Market), you probably want to ask the local about cakoi! It super delicious with its sauce, juicy and a lil bit sweet. Ohmygosh!! I'm starving!) Enjoy your stay here in Malaysia. And most welcome

Hope you go to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. It's beautiful there too. For a milder introduction to Durian, you can try the Durian pancakes at Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur or Durian ice cream.

Why are people so offended that they didn't like the durian? It's not disrespecting your culture, it's literally just a food they tried and did not enjoy? Honestly get over it. There's literally hundreds of videos on youtube of people gagging eating marmite/vegemite and saying it's disgusting and thats a classic food that many aussies and kiwis grew up on and love but you don't hear us complaining...

it's good to know that sweet cheese tarts are weird for westerners because for me personally (and for many other malaysians too i believe??), sweet cheese tarts are the default cheese tart, savoury ones would be new things and weird to us..

'Buaya' (crocodile) is an expression used for a 'playboy' with the idea of a never-married-predator-man preying on women. 'Bujang Senang' or Happy Bachelor' seems to describe a crocodile that had preyed on many victims... hence he described as happy. The size was nearly 20 feet long when it was finally caught.

I just want to point this out, you shouldn't called a food disgusting. It may not be so serious for you but to some people, like me, it's very offensive. I mean no matter how bad it taste or how much you hate it, It's still a food to many people who love eating it. You can always says your opinion on foods like how much you don't like the taste because everyone have their own preference but never called it disgusting. When you called a food disgusting, in a way, it would also be an insult to the people who actually eat it. Even when you put everyone else's feelings a side, you still need to respect and appreciate foods. Think of how lucky you are to eat something eatable than those who actually chewing grass to live. I hope you understand.

well from what did I watch, the only traditional food or basically Malaysian food that you eat is just the 'kek lapis'.for traditional food you can get it at the small stall by the roadside usually if U're at Semenanjung..I think in Borneo there will be some places that sell traditional food too but not in the mall usually...

You should go to Bukit Broga, Gunung Irau and Gunung Baling. And join Facebook group Hiking and Camping Around Malaysia. Ton of information and picture over there. You will find the gem. Hidden spot of Malaysia. And be careful with taxi. Some of them overcharge the tourist. I recommend you to take uber, grab car, train and bus.
