Cloth pads are so good. Periods stopped being so bad. I used to think there was a lot of blood before, but now it just seemed to be a problem with disposable pads. Plus, no more crinkling sounds. No plastic that creates more sweat. No more smell. A few tips I'll share for reusable pads. Go for natural breathable and moisture-wicking fabrics. The more layers the more absorbent. Have multiple pads for different flows, with different sizes and layers. Avoid any synthetic fabrics like PUL unless you think its really necessary for heavy flows. Rinse em in cold water, or treat with hydrogen peroxide, or just throw in the washer with the rest of your laundry. Reusable pads are part of your clothes now. Its really simple, if you have access to clean water. If not, reusable or disposable menstrual cups and disks are also an option.

@@SphitiMishra Its a real hassle to clean, so I recommend having enough pads for the week. For me I only have enough for one day, but I was able to make do even at work at a remote worksite and camping, I'd rather wash them immediately every single time than to go back to the store bought kind. You can add vinegar to soften up the fabrics again. And you can machine wash them every use or at the end of the week if wanted.

We actually have a ton of customers that have switched over to cloth pads because disposables couldn’t contain their flow and cloth could. We use a waterproof bottom fabric, more sizing options with much larger coverage and absorbent fabric that was designed with the purpose of absorbing bodily waste while still being able to wash out easily. The combination of these things can make the right cloth pad an amazing solution for ultra heavy periods.

Plus, the blood from a woman's period is not always as liquid as this video depicts. And, blood isn't the only thing which is eliminated from a woman's body during that time. Thank you for being so willing to understand more about that time in a woman's life. Some men aren't willing to learn about such. 👍
@katharina...

Your wife is of course right ☺️ The liquid was poured faster, because the disposable pad appears to have faster absorbance. I think once the cotton pad is washed a few times, it will be able to absorb liquids just as fast as the disposable one. I can see how this could be an issue when the cotton pad is fairly new. Period blood can be thicker, and if there is a sudden gush, the unabsorbed blood could spill over. I'm excited to try these out, hopefully there will be no accidents 👍

Definitely better for the environment! It creates less landfill waste and reduces plastic use. The amount of water used to wash the pad is negligible tbh, especially since water /is/ a renewable resource. If you're worried about peroxide use, you can simply not use it. It's more helpful for stain removal anyways, it's not necessary for disinfecting (soap will do that just fine).

Disposable pad and tampon companies hide harmful chemicals like: Titanium dioxide and Peg-100 Those chemicals are the most common but there are more. These chemicals cannot only give you cancer with your reproductive organs but can also bleed more and longer. These companies put chemicals in them so you bleed more and longer just for you to buy more of their products. The thought of marketing was somewhat good but the execution was horrible, instead of thinking of health problems in their product they decided to go with marketing. These studies show some deaths. While death is not common it is still possible and at risk. Please check your disposable products for harmful chemicals and check to see if there are more in other companies.
