Big mistake: only ever follow the official Japan metrological forecast and none of the other random ones and preferably after the 6th or 7th official forecast. *the metrological forecast has had it at full bloom between 28-31 for the last 3 weeks!

If you're coming for Cherry Blossoms, keep an eye on the forecast! You will be in time for the ones up north but all the ones in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka will likely be gone

If you're here mid-April, looks like your best bet to catch any sakuras would be in Sendai. Keep checking the forecast! Otherwise, north of Japan will have Cherry Blossoms late April to May!

The best tip about visiting Japan during cherry blossom time is not to go and find any other moment. It is super expensive, it is likely you will miss it and even when you do see it the view is ruined by blue picknick cloths. Go there few weeks earlier to see Miyako Odori in Kyoto.

I gotta be honest it’s just a white tree, not even pink. It looks cool but feels kinda gimmicky. I think you can find a tree with some colourful flowers in many places in the world I’ve seen many of them in my city.
