We went looking for snow around the north pennines, sadly due to the risk of getting stuck on high ground we gave up and headed back to safety, only to find a huge flood blocking the road, 50 minutes driving was more like 4 hours and 10 minutes.
We bedded down for the night at a lovely location and I somehow in the dark managed to tuck the van behind a Bush which blocked a significant amount of the wind that was battering us. Not a bad night's sleep... However I do wonder why 2 cars pulled up at 5:30am on a Sunday morning, one shouted to the other "someone's here, follow me" then drove off. Madness.
