If you need sweaters for the lambs, I used to take the sleeve off an old hoodie, or leg off of longjohns. Think of the cuff as a turtleneck, cut a hole for the front legs, cut to length and you have a sweater!

When will you expose them to a ram again. Next December all the ewes should be ready, I'm looking forward to that video and lambing on Pasture. Just glad you had a barn to use.

Emmy’s sheep😂 look really good. We started lambing in May around 15 years ago and it is a much more enjoyable time than January or February. Sure we give up some performance numbers but the environment for a ewe to lamb outdoors is much more in tune with nature.

Thanks! Our next lambing will be may of 2025. I hate winter lambing.

@@RussWilson Good for you! I find it much easier to do what I want to instead of what industry tells me I have to. If you look at store shelves, meat products are sold year around so lambing does not have to only occur in the winter. Same goes for calving.

Amen Russ! When I had sheep I'd take a nice single over triplets anyday! If a ewe had triplets, she went down the road. I ended up with a flock that consistently delivered twins after there first time lambing.

Also do you leave your ram lambs intact until they are sold?

What do you supplement milk with? I’ve heard you can do whole cow milk?
@RussWilson

We have never used cows milk. Sheep milk has about twice the protein and butterfat. We use powdered milk made from real milk solids.
