I main Explosher, some tips: Practice getting the 90 shots on dummy’s right next to you as sometimes you can save yourself One shot where someone is going to land from a super jump can trap them long enough to kill Illustrated at the 1:05:50 you can use one shot to get the checkpoints and goal painted enough to swim up On tower you have a high ground advantage which makes it easier to hit 90’s and point sensor can stop ninja squid users Other than that expect to be snuck up on by some random shooter with a vendetta

From my experience with it, the bloblobber is not respected NEARLY as much as it should be, it really is a VERY real threat, offensively speaking! Too many times, people have tried to get in my face to try and overwhelm me or throw me off, but that just plays right into exactly what the bloblobber users want you to do, as it's the only slosher that can splat you with just 1 slosh if all the bubbles hit, which is much easier and happens faster than you'd think when people are being foolishly too aggressive and in your face all the time with the current way the game is being played so aggressively. I've literally gotten several team Wipeouts with the bloblobber alone, it really is a THREAT! The only bad thing I don't like about it is it's sub-weapon, I don't mind having ink storm as the special as that provides good chip damage and flushes enemies out of a certain area and can help your team push forward and potentially take back mid control. However it's sub is really useless/lackluster for the bloblobber's role, even the angle shooter would've be more useful than the sprinkler, the most you can really get out of the sprinkler is to try putting the sprinkler in high up, hard to reach spots that'll annoy and distract the enemy team as long as possible.
@dransnake

Laughs in blob main who primarily plays tower control Honestly some advantages that I've found for tower control with blob is it's nice to make a path ahead for the tower. If you're moving right, you can cover a large amount of ground in a short amount of time just by moving side to side But also it's hella useful for helping your teammates beat the other team when they're in a fight. Camping on the tower and throwing around chip damage creates some nice chaos. I've also found that being high up rather than low down helps for playing aggressively. Sure I get splatted a lot, but I'm working on finding strats to avoid that
@EchidnaKida

Gonna have to help you out here man: The Bloblobber is much more of an effective skirmisher than an ineffective anchor. Due to the way the shots travel along terrain, it has a VERY difficult time attacking down 90 degree corners from high ground with huge dead zones where you can't hit opponents after they get close: but the situation is reversed when attacking UP FROM THE LOW GROUND ONTO THE ENEMY HIGH GROUND: the Bloblobber's strongest aspect. It can reliably inflict "delayed" pressure on the opponent's backliners/anchors in a way where they 1: can't actually fight back directly and 2: have to react to where you "were" without knowing where you currently "are". Inkstorm and Sprinkler are ideal subs and specials to sortof mindlessly toss up onto the high ground and distract their anchors further, being useful to force them to look in multiple directions (and not forward, toward the objective). You also barely used sprinkler at all in the opening of your Bloblobber match, when it would have cost you nothing to throw it to the side left or right on your push to mid and get some free Special charged as well as making part of a secondary path for your teammates later in the match. Ultimately, it's a tricky weapon to learn and not one that I expect most people, even top players, to be good at. Bloblobber is a mid-ranged Skirmisher that should advance into the heat of combat, harass the opponents, keep their attention divided, and try to prolong staying alive over getting kills while doing so. I've played this way through all of B and A ranks into S quite successfully. Also you need to aim where you think your opponent will be, not where they are (and not at walls), so Bloblobber rewards players who can "read" their opponents.

With the Bloblobber, I find sub resistance quite useful. As the king of indirect fire, you'll get a LOT of bomb spam firing back, and your slosh animation slows your walk to a crawl, and prevents you from swimming for long enough to make dodging bombs quite difficult.

38:15 - I watched this part so many times to figure out just _how_ effective your distraction was... It was honestly great that you pushed up there, because all four of the enemy team spawned at once and just did not manage their time (the Rainmaker can swim to base in seconds; never forget that, guys!). The Carbon Roller _and_ Splattershot came after you and the Charger aimed at you as well. The Clash was the only one to challenge the Rainmaker crew, promptly died for their troubles, and then it was basically the Charger playing 3v1 at the pedestal and, well... you can see how that went.

Disagree with the Bloblobber being poor for TC. It's great as the blobs can go up on the tower; or behind to the people supporting the tower which cuts them off. The ink storm is good for pressuring them off the tower as well. But it really comes into its own with high ground or small maps like metalworks, art academy, or mako mart. I find it really challenging on Wahoo World or Hagglefish.
@HightideSP

Bloblobber player here. Thermal Ink is amazing for it. It synergizes very well with its ability to bounce its shots off of walls, which makes it really hard for people to hide from you. Object Shredder is also really good on it because of its DPS (especially on rainmaker since you can put a sprinkler on it as the shield is respawning and completely shred it), but it's not as important as Thermal.

Tip for any mentally insane people (anyone interested in Aggro Blob): Like other sloshers, it has no jump RNG. It takes 4 shots to kill but 1 slosh to kill. Now, that sounds like a Splash with more range until you remember the shot velocity. Something that might make you feel smart is utilising it's exclusive ability to ricochet (bounce off walls) (stolen by Line Marker/Angle Shooter). This can hand you very advantageous angles. A decisive player with a plan could probably display the aggressive potential I've been theorising on. Swim Speed was the first ability that I thought to prioritise but I'm not sure if that's optimal (as optimal as Aggro Blob gets at least)

Really surprised he didn't mention it, but you can hit over Brellas and Crab tank from the front if you aim above them and let your shots fall down with tri slosh and slosher. It lowers your kill time a bit, but you can hit multiple people as well with this. Usually better as a flank in that use. Normally hitting them directly cancels your shot, but firing over them can hit multiple and still 2 shots.

trislosher user here: the thing i don't like about the kit is that the special is really dependent on what's on the other team. inkjet is fun, but i'm not always able to leave combat so go back to my base to avoid splatlings or chargers on the enemy team. weaving with zl and b is okay in certain situations, but hydras and skilled e-liters would have no problem picking me off. not to mention how tough it can be to find a safe jump point as well! it's mildly inconvenient but works alright as a distraction.

very informative video as always and my fave type the sloshers! as someone new to splatoon, my fave is the bloblobber. i like it bec it’s annoying and recently found out that the best way for me to play it is to not spam it. ive been practicing to be patient with my shots more. i use the sprinkler something like a passive inker mostly on the walls were the enemy cant see it quickly or under my feet or behind me just so i have a space to back off to. i rotate it with other sloshers to lessen my burnout but it’s going to be my first 5star weap currently at 4. it did help me go up to S700~ currently but this is just splatzones. im going to try other modes probably next season and with a diff slosher.

my vote for splatlings next. As a Hydra Main since Splatoon 1 I've got 5 tips for any new Hydra players that I feel could help out 1: don't be afraid of loosing your charge. you're a lot more useful alive then dead, for your map pressure. 2: you don't always need to full charge. yes the second charge tier is good, but not needed to get a kill. if you're constantly trying to only shoot when at full charge you will struggle. play with partial charges as well. you go from a 3 shot to a 4 shot which is a 4 frame slower kill which isn't much anyways from 8 to 12. like seriously I've traded or even won rushes because I didn't commit to full charges. 3: remember to jump. now despite what you see with the massive bloom. the Hydra actually has really low spread. even while jumping a good majority of your shots still stay true. and to pare with this the fact your weapon shoots really low so it's harder to shoot over ledges. 4: Tactecooler is completely useless for you. Don't go out of your way to get the buff. from my testing it doesn't give you any increased run speed while charging or shooting, it only gives swim speed. Which is the one problem you struggle with. 5: remember to change position. not only this but to watch your flanks. by moving around and not sticking to one spot you put alot more pressure on the enemies for map control. them not knowing where you are despite having to stand there charging is a real help. and since they don't know where you are since you're moving around they have a harder time flanking you. and if they are flanking you since you're actively watching that flank you can deal with them before they become a problem.

Something I've been curious about is the impact of jumping while shooting; it's been mentioned as a strength of the splash-o-matic, and now a strength of buckets in general, plus it's half the use of intensify action ability on weapons that don't have that intrinsic benefit. But why do you actually want to jump while shooting, outside of getting a little extra height when shooting over ledge? I've complained before about inkbrushes jumping around while swinging at me and got told it's a skill issue and the jumping should, if anything, make them easier to hit, but if that's the case why do literally all of them seem to do it?
