I'm a former optician, now retired. The glasses you were wearing at the beginning of your video doesn't have an AR coating (anti-reflective) on them which is why you saw so much difference between those glasses and the glasses you got from Hip Optical in regards to the reflections. Good blue light blocking glasses come with an AR coating on them as well as the blue light blocking coating. I'm sure you also noticed you didn't have hardly any glare either wearing the Hip glasses. You apparently wear contacts in your normal everyday life. So besides doing a really good test of your Hip glasses as far as blocking blue light, you also were giving your eyes a very nice break from your contacts.as well. By the end of the week I bet your eyes were more comfortable than they have been for quite a long time weren't they? I know you have a rather strong prescription which means you either need glasses or contacts constantly in order to see and function. But you seemed fine with wearing glasses only for a full week so I'm curious why you don't wear glasses more often. You clearly look every bit as attractive with or without glasses. In looking at your recent videos I'm wondering why your not wearing glasses in any of them considering that you claimed to be staring at screens extremely often. They don't make blue light blocking contacts so the only way of having blue light is with glasses. So if the blue light glasses worked so well why aren't you wearing your Hip glasses?

Let me help you honey. Their called "ear pieces" and they are on the end of the "temples" of the "frame" of your glasses. That part that sits on your nose in your new pair has what is called "adjustable nose pads" The pair you're wearing at the beginning has "molded nose pads" In both cases that area of your glasses is called the "bridge" of your glasses. It's called that because it's the "bridge" between the lenses of your glasses. As an optician, and in my 38 years as an optician I fitted many hundreds of young ladies with their glasses, including many that were getting their very first pair of glasses. So as such I consider myself as a being quite good at knowing what looks good on a woman and what doesn't. I am being completely honest in telling you that I really like how you look wearing both pairs. You're really a very attractive young woman so it's important that when you're wearing glasses that your glasses allows your beautiful face to be seen as much as possible. The plastic framed pair suites you very well because even being a rather large frame being clear and transparent your glasses really aren't covering or hiding much of your face at all. Then even as nice as the plastic framed pair looked on you the thinner framed pair being smaller is even cuter on you. The first thing you noticed was exactly what I noticed as well. Your larger plastic pair doesn't have an AR coating ( anti-reflective) which is why the reflection is so noticeable. i'm sure that you also get lots of glare when you wear those glasses as well. You probably didn't get the AR coating because you wear contacts lost often and your glasses has so far only been used as a backup for your contacts. That coating would have cost anywhere from $45.00 to well over $100.00 depending where you go for your glasses. Even worse insurance companies don't pay for it because they consider it as being cosmetic. So you have had to pay for it out of your pocket. Your blue light blocking glasses includes the AR coating on them. It should make you want to wear you want to start wearing your glasses more often. Even though your strong prescription really does reduce the size of your eyes through your lenses you still look absolutely amazing wearing glasses. those glasses really do suite you very nicely and they couldn't fit you any better. If you have any questions about glasses or your eyes please feel free to ask me. Have a great day and stay safe.

Okay first off they look so dang cuuuuute. Secondly, do they distort/change color much? I do digital art and I'm looking around for some bluelight filter glasses since I am glued to a screen constantly, but I need to try and get ones that change color as little as possible

phoenix_b_ artistically thank you! And I haven’t noticed color distortion at all! They are much more clear than my regular glasses! I wear them for days on end and they’re actually pretty comfortable. But yeah, I haven’t noticed anything weird concerning color! Hope that helps!

Oh glasses with yellow tint because yellow is the weakest color making it more comfortable and less harsh on your eyes than blue light. You look beautiful by the way.

Glad to hear that those blue light blocking glasses have been making you feel better and sleep better. Yep, you do look great with them on! You should wear them often (if you're not already doing so). And no, they don't make your eyes appear much smaller at all :)

@@camiscrazyyy I'm a retired optician. if you don't know what your glasses prescription is how were you able to order your glasses? Because contacts sit directly on your corneas and the lenses of you your glasses are usually about 3.4" in front of your eyes your glasses are always going to need to be slightly stronger than your contacts are. So most likely your glasses are probably either -7.50 or -7.75. I could tell in watching your video that your glasses are quite strong. Without your glasses or contacts you really can't see much at all. Am I right? You're still young enough that you're probably still getting increases about every year. But you should be nearing the point where the increases are smaller and further apart. Your eyesight should start to get stable somewhere in your early to mid twenties.

Jim Boice hey! Sorry for the confusion! My eye doctor was able to send me an image of my prescription which I then sent to Hip Optical! I don’t know how to read the paper, so I wasn’t 100% sure on what my eyeglasses prescription is, but I do believe it ranges from what you said! It is a fairly strong prescription and yes, I am quite unable to see without my glasses on! :)

@@camiscrazyyy Thank you for your reply. I wondered if that was maybe the way you did it. But just so you know how to read your prescription i'm going to explain it to you. You're myopic, otherwise known as nearsighted. See there you learned something already. Anyway being nearsighted mens that you have a very high SPH which is somewhere over -7.00. Now if you also have any astigmatisms that will be the numbers you see that are in the CYL boxes or spaces. It will also have a minus sign in front of the number. If you have astigmatisms that then means that you will have a number in the "axis" boxes That number won't have a minus sign in front of it and it can be anywhere from "0" to "180" Axis numbers really have no value at all as for as power goes. It's actually for the lab person and is telling him or her how the lenses of your glasses need to be turned in the frame to correct your astigmatism. So your prescription sheet should look something like this (right eye) OD -7.50 SPH -..50 CYL 132 axis (left eye ) OS -7.75 SPH -.25 CYL 18 axis Now of course if you don't have any astigmatisms then the -.50 and -.25 would be -0.00 and no axis numbers. I hope that made some sense to you.
