Removed a section in my camper where the entertainment area is and installed. Works great. Instead of propane furnace heat, I can use this kzitem.infoUgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo to heat the camper as long as it's hooked up to shore power. Only thing I do not like is there does not seem to be a thermostat. I'm presuming it has a built-in one so it does not overheat. Really like all the other color options it has to offer.

Just had my Napoleon 500 in Black Enamel delivered and setup. It is the natural gas model and without the LP bottle in the cabinet it has a lot of storage. This is replacing a three burner Weber grill that is at least 25 years old with a perfect red enameled cover. Both are built like a tank and I expect my Prestige 500 to last just as long. I keep my grills cleaned and maintained, covered when not in use.

The "cooking tub" is the firebox. I'm on year 12 with a Broil King Soverign XLS 90. Both sides fold down (yes the one with the burner) and I think they should on the one in the video too. The reason why I went with the BK was price and features. When I got mine burners on the BK were 5 years and on the Weber were 10 years.. Everybody that I knew with a BK got 10 plus years out of the tube burners, so that was a moot point for me. The biggest factor? If I rhymed off all the features of the BK at a Weber dealer (cooking space, side burner, rotisserie burner, BTUs, four main burners, rotisserie kit) the price was easily more than double. I live in Canada and the service for a BK was beyond anything the two others could achieve because the BBQs were made relatively close. We registered the BK and if there was any issue with it or any added parts for safety, they were on my porch in two days,. I did not respond to their safety notice and they shipped the parts anyway based on my registration address. The sear zone. No. If I turn that BK up to the Pow-R-Zone it will burn charcoal like sear marks into the meat, which I don't want When we were breaking it in it got the flavour bars glowing all orange, the main grids were glowing orange and the top grate was glowing orange too. Burner is great for cooking sides so you don't have to run into the house if you are grilling. I used mine the other day to cook some onions because I didn't want to smell them in the house for a few days. I think that the other grills are prettier. I think that they may have better fit and finish over a BK. After you have multiple grills, smokers, pellet grills, stick burners, charcoal bullets at the same time, pretty takes a back seat. Those are for the guys who brag about the BBQ, not the food from the BBQ. I just need to cook the food. Changed all my burners and the holder last fall for $47. All nice pure blue flames, no hot or cold spots.Seriously, with the extra money I saved I bought a Traeger pellet grill.

This was a very well balanced, comprehensive, objective review. The only area that seemed to get little attention though is fairly significant...burners. The Broil King clearly has an edge over the excellent Napoleon and Weber grills, with its dual-tube burners. The dual-tube burners equalize the gas pressure inside the burner so that the heat is even front to back. Standard tubular burners tend to have higher pressure in the front of the burner and can give you uneven heating. Obviously you can get outstanding results from all three grills. I have had a Broil King Regal for 4 years now, having owned high end Weber and Viking grills in the past, and the high, even heat and range of flame control is impressive.

as someone who has experience with each of 3 three grills, although the tubes may be superior, everything else in the build is of less quality especially the grease flow and waste management on broil kings is atrocious due to the insulated design of the cook box (poor design in my eyes)

I am actually surprised that you chose the Napoleon as the whole video seemed to be promoting Weber. You don't mention the price point of each. That is very important in comparisons but I will assume they are all in the same ballpark.. You point out the pluses of the Napoleon hood and yet the Broil King's hood appears to have the same heat retaining curvature. You point out the lack of stainless steel grills on the Weber but talk about a different model to compensate. The is one of the things lacking in the Weber as well as only 3 burners compared to 4 on the other two. When I cook, I don't cook on the tub. How often does someone need to replace the tub compared to how often do they need to replace the burners, the deflectors the grill plates or the rotisserie or the side burner? Your obsession with the tub seems like a moot point to me. Over the years I have had some cheap grills and never has the tub been an issue on any. I use my grill for a lot of cooking not just grilling. I have used it as a smoker, I have baked meatloaf on the warming rack and a lot more. If the power goes out, it is my stove. I rarely use my side burner unless I want to keep a baste warm. I have faster burners on my campstove if the power is out. My cabinet always gets spider webs on everything so I do not store much in it other than the tank or my rotisserie rod which I wash before using. Weber's are overpriced for the features offered. Build quality is excellent but features aren't. This model is lacking in the stainless grills; # of burners and the lack of rotisserie. 3 major flaws if this is in the same price range as the others. Fewer burners means more wear and tear on each and less versatility for low heat depending on the BTUs and the space being heated. The side burner grate looks very cheaply made. If that burner has good BTUs, that little grate will warp in no time. The fold down warming rack is a nice feature but it is small. Decent cabinet but no tank storage. Broil King offers the best grill plates; best cabinet; good side burner grate; and the biggest heating rack which can be used for baking items like potatoes or anything that you may not want on direct heat. It has 4 burners, rotisserie and side burner and the hood has the same curvature as the Napoleon which you admired only on the Napoleon. With 4 burners you can have the outer two on and bake on the centre of the warming rack. Napoleon has all the features of the Broil King but the stainless grills are thinner than the Broil King. The lights on the knobs is cool but if you turn them off as you leave the grill as one might do, you still won't see if you left one burner on. The warming rack is quite small. overall a good choice though. I don't know why you give credit to one brand only for a feature when another also had it. I do think you sold the viewers short in regards to the Broil King. Not sure why other than an obsession with tubs? How many tubs have you seen rot/rust out within a couple of decades of use? My bias is Broil King due to experience. I chose it over a Weber many years ago. Napoleon was just starting then. At that time, it had the same weight grills as the Weber and well as one burner more, a side burner and a gas rotisserie. The weber had 3 burners and nothing else. The gas rotisserie is far superior to any infrared one that I have used. My Broil King is about 20 years old now and I have not had to replace anything on it. I suggest that for your next review, try going back and forth between them for each feature as you did with the cabinets. Grills; then burners; then side burners; etc.

Thanks for the comparison. I didn't even realize the stainless steel grates were available on the 3-burner weber. Speaking of grill performance, I think it's important to talk a bit about grill cooking evenness. A simple toast test to check for hot zones and editing in a picture of all three gas grill cooking-evenness would be sufficient. Another thing to note is that crossover tubes may cause hot spots over where the tubes are, but I'm sure all three of these cook relatively even.

I purchased the Prestige 500 a few years ago. The performance of the burners are great. It gets super hot when needed and with 4 burners you can set up a direct heat zone and indirect heat zone very easily. There are some negatives (that I can live with). The knobs are not very sturdy (I had to replace them). The hood thermometer stopped working some time ago and the elevated warming grate didn’t stand up to the heat and grease splatter. The biggest annoyance was the grate over the infrared burner. I can’t tell if the cast iron grate in the video requires seasoning or if it is coated in porcelain. But, the grate over my infrared grill (from a few seasons ago) came with a non-coated cast iron grate. That means it needs seasoning like a cast iron skillet or else food will stick and the iron will rust. But, the infrared grill gets so hot that the seasoning burns off regardless of what oil you use to season. After a season of meticulous care, it still rusted. So, I stopped using the side burner for grilling (though us it to deep fry in a wok). I am eyeing buying the stainless steel grate as a replacement.

You are right about the aluminum body on the Weber it's awesome along with the stainless grates. The PROBLEM is the body of the Genesis is crap...total RUSTING CRAP. I'm so pissed I can't see straight. It's wrong. This grill is NOT cheap and when I bought it it was "the last grill I'd ever have to buy!" I bought it because I wanted the quality and I didn't mind paying for it. By the way....................Weber is "sorry for your experience" when your ORDERING PARTS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE CABINET UNDER THE GRILL. I live in Florida I've literally barbecued while we've had a hurricane with 60-70 MPH winds .. never not once did I have a burner "blow out" from wind it's literally laughable. Also I like to zone cook sometimes I have them all on on the right sometimes one on the right one on the left and so on.

@@embersliving .. When your electricity is out it's a little difficult to microwave. Hurricane conditions including tropical storm winds 30-70 MPH winds can last for days. I live in SW Florida and since I've moved here in 2000 we've had several too damn many. In Florida we have a thing called Lanai it's an area that's under a roof but still open to your pool deck / backyard.

Hey folks do NOT purchase the PRO665. Unless your into scrubbing the interior of your grill. I've owned one now for 3 months. Purchased it on sale late December 2019 and just began using it at the beginning of the covid pandemic. Napoleon changed the rear hood design which allows for grease to seep between the stainless diverter plate and rear hood. Napoleon has refused to acknowledge this design flaw and will NOT provide any solution to the issue except that the owner must clean and scrub the interior of the grill after every 3 uses. Thats a chore in itself and a messy one too so I've found out. It sucks!
@embersliving

so sorry to hear that! maybe we can help In some way. Our cook model is a 2019, and we do not have that issue. What did Napoleon say exactly?
@PhatOtterStudios
4 жыл бұрын
@@embersliving , Napoleon is not saying anything. They won't disclose "publicly" that there is an issue. I'm thinking that the company has new employee's that simply don't care anymore. A friend of mine who purchased a different model stated also that the company's newer product line is poorly constructed. We both had 15 years of great grilling experiences with our previous Napoleon grills and we both figure that we'll be lucky to get 5 years out of the new ones. When I began removing the lid and rear cover off my PRO665 I found that the grill is assembled with cheap self taping screws. When I reassembled it after cleaning half of those screws would not tighten up. Now the grill is becoming a bit wobbly. Even the side sizzler frame is loose now. The quality for the price simply isn't there. I've owned Napoleon products for many years which include a deck heater and a fire table. Both had issues and customer service took care of it right away at no cost too me. Thats why I purchased Napoleon products. Well that has changed and I find that the new customer support telling me that I need to clean the inside of my grill regularly is a pretty lame excuse. I cooked well over 1000 beer can chickens on my previous grill and never cleaned once. My grilling style hasn't changed, but the quality of the grill is certainly gone. What gets me that the build quality has gone down and the price has gone way up. Corporate greed? I think so as they have no intentions of addressing the issue at hand.

i have a broil king, 7 years old. entire interior is falling apart. the burners are cracked, the grills are eaten away by rust and can be chipped with my finger, the little bridge that carries gas between the burners simply desintegrated, the hood is also starting to lose some coating, the igniter hasnt worked in years. Getting a phantom prestige 500 now, cant wait.

I understand Napoleon has more features, but I was told and wanted your opinion that the Weber’s main cooking area cooks more even than Napoleon. Gas grills are hotter in the back and Weber designed their gas system to taper down in the back for that reason. Other side note I read that Weber’s repair rate is 1% 😳 and Napoleon is 10.3% which is still very good compared to most brands. Warranty may cover it but constantly repairing stuff stinks.

My parents have had their original Napoleon for almost 20 years. We liven in Canada with long winter with lots of snow. My Sad never covers it and bbq’s all year round. He has only had to replace the shields (?) once since he’s had it. There is zero rust on it. Just some scratches from moving several times. I’m planning on getting my first Napoleon next year.

Really appreciate the review. I've been looking forward to this comparison. From a UK standpoint we have 13kg gas cylinders which will not fit inside the Napoleons or Broil King, they have to sit outside them on the ground. BIG PROBLEM with moving the bbq or just general aesthetics. However the Webers ALL accommodate this. Also, you forgot to mention the (very useful) Weber utility which shows the approximate amount of gas left in the tank. I realise this may not be important to you Yanks, but a Brit might be interested.

After lots of research (but not this video), I ordered the Napoleon Prestige 500 RSIB a couple weeks ago. Can't wait to get it! Unfortunately, FedEx is a mess and has it a terminal near me for 11 days now. Ughh! Anyway, I'm hoping for the best with it. So tired of buying $400 - $500 grills that always last 3 - 4 years! A few things I found strange with trying to buy a Napoleon..... Almost no one has them in stock, some sites are now showing 12 - 16 weeks til it would ship. Also, for some reason the warranty differs from different retailers....strange! Thanks for your video review though! Seems like I made the right choice and even got a free grill cover included with it (though, apparently the cover is backordered and won't ship til August). How can they be so far behind in manufacturing these grills? They're losing out on basically the entire grill buying season. I also read that the Napoleon models lower than the Prestige (like the Rogue for example) are made at a factory in China. Though, the Prestige and higher models are strictly made and tested in Canada. That's one more reason to get the Prestige series.

Great video! I’m in the market for a barbecue and have narrowed it down to the Napoleon Prestige 500 and the Napoleon Rogue XT 625. I’m not sure exactly which to go for as I don’t think I’ll ever use the rotisserie feature and the lights on the knobs don’t seem to be a major bonus for me. I feel the extra burner (5 burner for the XT 625 vs 4 burner on prestige) would be more useful to me. I would love to hear your advice and expertise on which barbecue you would recommend I buy and if the extra 200$ to jump to the prestige 500 is worth it.
