Many women and their partners are reluctant to speak openly at work about trying for a baby, and this can often be further exacerbated by a need for fertility treatment.
Following the success of our last webinar, “Becoming a Menopause Friendly Employer”, aimed at focusing on how the menopause affects women in the workplace, we’re delighted to be continuing with our focus on women’s health at work, to bring you a second event in this series, raising awareness of the struggles many women and their partners face when dealing with fertility matters at work.
Still to this day, an alarmingly high number of employers don’t have a policy for supporting those who are going through fertility treatment, and many HR professionals haven’t had experience themselves on how to carefully and effectively navigate these lifechanging events in a person’s life.
We’ve teamed up with fertility blogger and patient advocate, Becky Kearns, whose own experiences of fertility treatment - coupled with over 12 years’ worth of HR experience - has led to her co-founding Fertility Matters at Work, an organisation that aims to radically change the support offered by employers to those facing fertility struggles.
Following a difficult fertility journey which involved numerous IVF Cycles and miscarriage, Becky is now a Mum to 3 girls thanks to egg donation. She’ll be joined by Fertility Matters at Work co-founders, Natalie Silverman and Claire Ingle, as they discuss:
- Real life professional and personal experiences
- The impact fertility treatment can have on an individual whilst at work
- How you can guide and support from an employer perspective
