The cow chow is looking fantastic. It has great color and is getting taller by the day. How much more mulch hay do you have left to go before you can pull the trigger and start on the cow chow?

There's probably 30+ acres to cut and hoping to do around another 100 bales.

I probably would wait too much longer to cut it thinking that it could be like last fall and rain most of the time. I wouldn't be surprised if we get our first frost in the next few days as they are calling for one up in Bradford tonight and we are usually a week to 10 days after that.

Next widow that gives a chance to cut is later next week. But time is definitely getting shorter.

So would I if baking. It also would be better quality and digestibility. I'm chopping and bagging it. With being on the later side of planting I'm afraid there wouldn't be enough time to recover a near equal second cut.

Looks really good 👍. Amazing how fast that stuff grows. Dipping down into the 40's here at night hopefully that's not going to last, I'm not ready for cold weather 🤯

My dad always argues with me wanting more tonnage make more cuttings of better quality and you'll be farther ahead

I agree with more cuttings for better quality, but when I see guys adding straw to add fiber so it doesn't just pass out the other end of the cow are you really any better off after the extra fuel and wear on equipment.
