I never comment on KZitem but I feel you’re worth a comment. I randomly stumbled upon your videos and I spent two days binge watching. I think your vlogs are addictive not because of your life (although it’s fascinating to watch) but because of your personality. It’s so refreshing to find someone who is just themselves and incredibly genuine. I love that you don’t try to glamorize your life and will show yourself with no makeup, just out of bed scrambling to get to class and the stress of doing well in school. You’re clearly always yourself and that’s my favorite thing about you, no gimmicks or click baits trying to get views and likes....you’re just you. I work in the medical field as well and one of your videos you posted about a month or so ago stuck with me where you were upset about some criticism you had received and felt some of your classmates were so confident in their abilities and you were very sad about the situation. I know I’m late to the situation but let me tell you as someone who works very closely with residents and fellows I would take you over the confident ones any day. The simple reason being many of the super confident ones are actually struggling themselves but that confidence is more pride/ego and often times they won’t admit to their mistakes let alone learn from them. Your ability to self reflect and want to do better and taking that criticism to heart shows that not only do you care but that you’re willing to do what’s necessary to improve. I am completely confident that no matter what you decide to go into you’re going to do an incredible job because you have such a big heart, you’re smart and have a great personality. Your present and future patients are very lucky to have you. Sorry for the long comment but I felt you deserved it.

I agree her personality is what drove me to love watching her since she was 1st yr and before having caylax... love ur comment it can actually benefit others who may also feel less confident in what their doing and also reflect on the negativeness they get in life.. (atleast i kind of related to the reflection and low confidence in my school work)

shugrie mumin it’s something I went through myself as a student, wanting to do well and be confident during my clinicals to impress potential employers but I have really found over the years working that a person can learn the skills for their job as long as they’re willing. It’s really not about how well you can do the job in the beginning but showing you’re interested and want to learn and improve by taking in what others teach you and having a bit of humility. It’s amazing how far that can go. I hope people read this and it gives them hope because it’s truly not about being perfect but a willingness to show your imperfections and ask someone for help 🙂

Oh America, it is so true that you get to be monumental in the kids life when it deals with oncology. My little sister passed away from cancer very recently, and there was one medical student that my sister always squirt with silly string!! I’m a frequent flyer as a patient because of my lung disease and I see a lot of med student and love to teach them some things they might not even know yet! I’m not doctor but 23 years on being in the hospital about a dozen times a year I’m pretty good at dosing meds, accessing my own port and so on! But good luck and I’m so proud of you!! And how you keep s positive outlook on life! Much love -a

i think the most fascinating thing about you might just be that you managed to train a cat to play outside, sit on outside tables and not run away LOL Seriously though, how?? :p On a side note I think pediatric hematology/oncology would be the hardest (though I've always heard the burn unit is the hardest...) But, I can see you being the doctor who is able to relate to these younger patients and be real. I think you could be really good in that field. And over time, you'll see some of the most amazing advancements in medicine as well. I think personally I would really enjoy working with in-patients, or working in a role where you're following up with patients annually throughout their lives. That's what's so amazing about peds...even though it is so hard and you do see the most difficult struggles, you also see these children- *children*- battle and win the battle with some of the most serious and bizarre diseases. And then you get to see them grow up, continue to fight and do better. I think that would be amazing :)
