You are awesome! Thanks so much. My husband has been unemployed for a couple of months. He was IT contracting to support our family of 8! He has just landed a permanent job (less money but regular pay). Your video is a goldmine for us. I have watched quite a few of yours. Thankyou so much for taking the time to make it!

Oh yeah I've heard that - I think it helps to keep mites away too. Although heading into winter now so will probably give up on them until it starts getting warmer again and up their protein - might try the chilli trick too!

Hi Sarah 😊 thank you so much for this ans all the recipes its extremely helpful.. i just wanted to ask what things do your children eat as snacks etc? I have 3 Children and i find buying snack type food is just so expensive. I do bake but i think they are getting a bit sick of that stuff🥴🤣🤦.. thank you 😊

Thanks for the feedback and good question! The kids generally snack on home baking or fruit, sometimes they make their own smoothies with fruit & yoghurt etc, I've got a couple of different cracker recipes they like too or sometimes they make popcorn. I've also got videos on "microwave pizza" they can make themselves that's a quick filling snack or lunch option :) This video might be of some inspiration - a school holiday snack guide :) kzitem.info/news/bejne/p5Ctn6J8cmR0lG0

@@CheaperWaysNZ Thank you so much ☺️ we just seem to buy so many pre made things, I don't mind chippies and crackers but there's just so much stuff we kind of fall in to buying and it all adds up very very quickly. The kids love donuts but they aren't cheap, by the time each child has one they are pretty much gone 😬...I think I need to look into a baked donut recipe lol🤣..maybe I need to be a wee bit more tuffer with the pre packed stuff cos to be completely honest it's all just absolute rubbish.

@@BobBob-bx3vi it's so hard when they're used to it, and they see other kids having it! I've never tried making donuts myself but I have a recipe for Samoan Panikekes which are kind of donut-like that could be something different too!

Wow that's good buying I have a budget of around $60 a week but when I end up buying the basics milk bread butter coffee just for the basics in near on $40 I used to buy mince I used to cook alot but now I will buy the odd pack of sausages because they go further I'm just buying for myself but I eat porridge cereal and crumpets and beans are there any other tips or advice you could give Sarah as what's cheap and more healthier to eat I'm just feeding myself but I'm stuck for ideas I now have come to realise pak n save is not that much cheaper then woolworths
@CheaperWaysNZ
5 ай бұрын
It depends a lot on your area, Woolworths are pretty much all priced the same but Pak'n Saves can vary a lot store-to-store! Always worth checking out butchers (sometimes cheaper sometimes not), Bin Inn or Indian Grocers and also fruit & veges from local markets, they sometimes have things cheaper than the main supermarket chains

Do you make jams out of any of your fruits? Or pie fillings?
@CheaperWaysNZ
5 ай бұрын
I make plum jam every year with little cherry plums which aren't that good for eating, also blackberry jam and I sometimes bottle apples ... never had much luck bottling my stone fruit so I usually just freeze it for baking etc. I've made jam with blackboy peaches as well but wasn't as keen on it (although the kids ate it so can't have been that bad lol). I also experiment with making fruit wine if I have enough of it 🙂
