I really wish I could see the northern lights well too.

We also went for a drive trying to see the lights but didn't have any luck. I think we were sleeping when they were brightest here. Oh well, hopefully some day I'll see them.

I'm sure you will! You are much closer to them than I am!

It's on my bucket to see the northern lights too. Unfortunately, I missed this one 😢 I want to know what is so ingrained in us to make us attracted to the "bad boys" when they are clearly not good for us. But this has apparently been a thing for awhile if it's in your Victorian books!

Yeah, I think it's human nature. I struggle to understand it, because I can see right through those bad boys, but I know so many girls who just can't see it!

@@insearchofwonder I was very much able to see through it by the time I graduated from high school, but looking back I think I was kind of blind to it as a younger teenager. I'm just thankful I never got into any kind of trouble or bad relationship because of it, but there were definitely some guys I was interested in during middle and high school that fell into that category 😬

I think it may be because bad boys tend to act in a way that seems more masculine and that it may be a subconscious thing that we are drawn to? Or the excitement? It’s a good question!

@CandlewickLibrary That's a good possibility, I hadn't thought of that before.

@@CandlewickLibrary that's a good point! The bad boys tend to be more aggressive and possessive, and that can seem attractive because we might feel like we'll be protected (just not from them lol).

Not sure if I could handle a novel that is super repetitive, it honestly bothers me when novels have sequels and the author has the compulsion to overexplain as if one did not read the first novel.

I wouldn't say it's repetitive, necessarily. I think the author is trying to avoid being repetitive by focusing introspectively on the characters and kind of reviewing their most recent decisions before continuing on with the plot. It creates kind of a push and pull in the narrative flow. I guess some people have found it excessively repetitive, but I haven't really.
