My grandmother used to press flowers from funerals of loved ones in her enormous antique family Bible ❤️ I'm happy to say I got that Bible complete with collection of dried flowers when she died and I pressed a flower from her funeral inside ❤️ thank you for sharing this lovely timeless craft project 🥰

What a trip down the memory lane! I used to do this as a child. It made books smell so nice too. Also used to keep peacock feathers pressed in books, my friends and I would later exchange. Used to be such prized possessions.

I love pressing leaves from favourite trees and recently found some lovely pale golden maidenhair leaves in an old diary. They still had the supersoft texture and looked so pretty. I never thought of framing them but will now - thanks for the idea! I've never braved flowers but might snip a few and give it a go ⚘🌸🌹

Wonderful video. You could have created another picture frame with the successful leaves & dried blooms. I think it is a nice touch, either just behind other decor pieces or on their own. I am in the states. The fast dry cloth system you have is a swiffer in the states, can be purchased wet or dry. I use them in my kitchen, and bathrooms but handles are not strong. I have bent the swiffer handle being a bit to aggressive..haha. Your home always is lovely. Nice video

Kay, your pressed flowers turned out so pretty I used to enjoy pressing flowers when I was younger. I think I will give it another try.. you’ve inspired me! As we do not have carpet, just wooden floors, I also “swiffer”. A good tip to save on the cloths.. I turn mine over and use the clean side for both the dry and wet cloths. Also I find the wet ones sometimes dry too quickly then I just squirt some cleaner on the floor.. lasts abit longer! Could you also do a video on your latest skincare routine..Thank you and God bless..

I would actually suggest pressing the flowers in paper towels (which can be reused if you continue pressing more or for cleaning stuff) and leave it in between the heavy books for about a week to a week and a half depending on the size and water content. The paper towels absorb the plants' moisture really well and prevent them from turning brown or rotting. They also wrap around the flowers and plants easier so the pressing is more effective. Just from my own experience.

I didn't get how long she pressed her flowers. I press flowers too. I keep them in a book for at least 4 weeks, but many times longer than that. I don't think her flowers will keep their colours for a very long time that way. Maybe she should press her flowers longer?

Yes to a fly lady video! Experimenting with flower pressing is so fun! Your hydrangea in the frame looks beautiful!! My first job was pressing flowers for an artist 😂 we would press them with facial tissue in between phone book pages (which I realize don’t exists anymore lol) and stack heavy books on top and leave them for at least 4 weeks. We would remove the stems and press them separately because it sometimes makes it easier to get the flowers to lay flat.

The Hydrangea turned out so well ~ It will be interesting to see how long it retains its colour ~ that is one thing I find when I press flowers is not being able to preserve the colour for a long time ~Using baking paper or parchment paper helps to prevent the flowers from sticking 🌸🌿🌸
