The final version feels like you're going insane (the licks in the song making it feel more complex, the pitch, the production) and this version just feels like you've just completely lost everything (less guitar parts, lower effort singing, rougher production, obviously but still)

It’s a shame Perfect situation doesn’t have a demo equivalent to this aside from the one where it sounds like he shitted on his guitar; it could really benefit from this style of production Interestingly enough, the live versions of perfect situation Weezer are doing now are definitely the best versions of the song. It’s actually crazy, and no one is talking about it. I’ve always wanted someone to do a cover of the song eliminating most of the elements I didn’t like about the album version, but everyone would just copy the album version. It took Weezer themselves to bless me with a better version of Perfect Situation

@@reddwood4971 exactly, the album version has more solos. There's a specific part near the end where he plays a very nice melody on the guitar and doubles it with his voice, that part is completely absent in the demo. This demo kicks ass tho, it has that 90s weezer energy.

I think the demo handled the verses and the final chorus better. Im very sad that the backing vocals singing the verse were cut. But I think the reprise was handled far better in the album version.

the original one from the album I feel is too polished for what the lyrics and for weezer in general and the lyrics don't really fit in with make believe in my opinion they should've left this version with more grit for a future album

Wow. Well I hate any weezer after pinkerton but this is not bad and 10x better than the version that came out, no piano, no backing vox. Hearing this reminds me of the anticipation I had for make believe reading karl's korner every week after the disastrous green album and maladroit. This might be the only post pinkerton solg that I enjoy (thanks to this demo version).

I hold the unpopular edition that the album version is garbage and is my least favorite Weezer track with the exception of the hip hop section of Can't Stop Partying. This version, though, is great and would have raised Make Believe up at least a star.
