this is why weezer decided to get together and make more albums. cause of all the fans who were at warped tour and went nuts for them. at warped tour that year the fans were screaming for weezer when other bands were doing their sets lol

Don’t be superficial. Mikey was funny and cool but he had major problems and in the long run was not a good band mate. Wish he could have overcome them but he unfortunately committed suicide via drug overdose. He burnt brightly and was a nice guy, but I’d take a dependable guy like Scott over Mikey for a band mate any day. Matt Sharp was great but he has too big of an ego to stay in a group with a guy like Rivers for the long haul. It’s got to be Rivers and role players, unfortunately. Even with all I know about Weezer, it’s hard to know how much of a creative influence Matt Sharp was for Blue Album and Pinkerton, although I do love his bass playing style.
@tyde4610

@@SpaceTravel1776 matt has said many times he didn’t really have much involvement in the bands songwriting, more so in blue than in pinkerton where he helped out a bit more but he’s said the band would be the exact same same had he stayed.

@@davidmiranda7937 I think mikey was great for the time he was in the band, he kept the band together during a time when the rest of the band was really insecure about reforming, especially rivers. But by 2002 rivers didn’t really need someone to be the frontman for him anymore, if you look at any live video from 2002 you can see how much better he is at interacting with the crowd and just performing in general. plus mikey has said a couple times he didn’t like his role in the band and also said rivers was kinda a dick, at least when he was there, so it’s not surprising he left when he did

Warped Tour 2000 was interesting. Green Day also played some of the dates. Probably two of the biggest acts to ever play there after they were already huge. You'd think they would consider it a step down from their normal stadium gigs, but honestly it's been said that these shows on Warped Tour really helped the bands hone in on their skills and bring them back down to earth and remember how important the music was.

Actually, this song has never been played in clean. The original blue Warmoth guitar the song was played on (in live situations) had a special circuit that allowed his guitar to get this really sweet crunchy/clean medium, so whenever he wanted to go to full distortion, he would just have to turn the volume knob on his guitar up all the way.

basically every band is "up and comers" nowadays, the rock market can't facilitate bands like they used to pre 2010s. support these bands because we literally don't have much else in the grand scheme of things and the lack of support is why rock is dying. you can't just sit on your ass at home and say "rock is lame now" and not contribute at all.
