I'm one week in, and even though that's not a long time, this is the first time I've ever committed myself fully and successfully. Because my goal? Was lose 1.7 pounds of where I was at the moment. My next goal is 5 pounds at a time. But since I'm starting I just wanna get to there first. And I'm really proud of myself. :)

My therapist recently told me the reason you quit is because you set unrealistic expectations. We all do this because our society has conditioned us to believe everything is quick, but success takes a lot of hard work and time. Now I am giving myself more realistic goals and it helps.

One thing that has helped me in the last few weeks, is I wake up and call my self a nasty fat gross monster. The rest of the day I don’t feel like eating. I’m practically starving myself and remember this, don’t wake up and call yourself a beautiful person. Don’t wake up and say my body is perfect. Wake up and say the opposite. It has helped me lose a ton of weight recently.

I find that constantly weighing yourself is a BIG demotivator. There are so many things that can cause our weight to fluctuate, so instead focus on internal changes. Do you feel better/stronger? Do you feel energized? Etc. The external changes come with time

I was stuck trying to loose those last ‘10 lbs’ for over a year and a half , first because the weight wouldn’t budge, then because of binge episodes that became more and more recurrent and close together. Now those last 10 lbs became 17 lbs and I am feeling totally lost… totally unmotivated and scared. It took me almost three years of total commitment to a diet and exercise routine to loose 75 lbs ( I am a very small person so this was a lot to loose for someone my size). Now all the drive to keep all this going is also totally depleted. I am working 40h a week in an office full of unhealthy, obese people who eat all day long too. I never give into that kind of stuff but after being around them for so long I am loosing my focus on my goals. It took me so long to get to where I was at, and now, in a blink of eye I am seeing everything crumbling real quick right before my eyes and I feel totally powerless to make it stop. I am devastated…

This is the single best piece of advice I’ve heard. Instead of making the cycle of failure and new resolutions easier through continuous practice pick a new weight loss strategy which will become easy with practice. When you’re at the point where you have to make a decision if you’re gonna win or fail, just think about how much easier it will be the next time you need to exercise control.

Thank you so much for this! I needed to hear every last bit of this video. I've been yo-yo dieting all my life. And as of the start of June kicked myself, I've got down from 16st 5lbs to 13st 8lbs. I still have a long way to go, and have felt defeated seeing that I've slimmed up on my arms and legs, but my stomach is still nowhere near. At this point it'd be easy to quit, and I've been trying to find excuses to stop trying. This video has gotten through to me more than my friends and family have. I appreciate you so much! I hope this video has helped others as much as it has me :)

hello mam... Thanks for uploading such amazing content. I'd however like to expand a bit upon my problem. I've been into a weight loss journey since more than 2 years now and I haven't quit even once, sure I do take time off following all the doubts about myself that are in my head. At that time when I'm taking time off of my deiting/workout regimes, I go into a revenge mode or what people usually call rebellious behaviour. I eat a lot and stop being physically active altogether. There are often times where even my personal hygiene would take a huge dump and its breaking to the core. Whatever level of success I accomplish during dieting or working out totally fades away over the course of giving up "temporarily" and sometimes I weigh more than I did before starting again. This year has especially been a rocky one, first three months I was doing OMAD and was consistent and motivated until I decided to treat one day as a cheat day. After that very day life has never been the same however there was a time during April-May when I was eating a lot of junkfood but was regularly working out and therefore achieved my lowest weight. Due to some personal reasons, I had to stop the workouts and simulatenously my college reopened and the schedule got messed up. In June, I completed my major. Was back home for further studies' preparations and this very part demands staying at home for more than a year which ultimately means no extra steps/physical movements out of home. I have however still tried to get hold of the right track many times over the past few months and have time and again failed because of the voices inside my head.. Also I feel I have a BED because the addiction of food and sugar is real. The whole September I tried to do OMAD and succeeded, was also skipping ropes and walking long miles the same month but the progress wasn't very impressive and that put me off the weight loss treadmill. I thought and planned more so that I'd have one cheat day and jump right back in but I couldn't. Days passed by and I obviously kept giving myself apt excuses. Fast forward to November, I have been 5 days in again into the weight loss thingy, again with OMAD and consistent one hour fast paced walks (bcs in the name of workouts , thats the maximum I can do with regards to my current schedule) , I have had putting off thoughts many times but still I am going strong until now. Your video spoke to me in a lot of elaborate ways. Thanks a ton, I'll try implementing your suggestions

I’ve taken a 3 week break and gained back 4 pounds of my 12 pound weight loss. I got discouraged because I was way too hungry on my 2100 calories. Blood sugar came down. Protein at every meal. Made 215 calorie veggie soup to help keep me full. Are big bowls of veggies to make me full enough to feel comfortable. Had thyroid checked. Just don’t get why I’m so hungry on 2100 cal. Log all my food on my fitness pal. Keep going over 300-400 calories or more And stopped losing weight. I’m confused and frozen so I gave up. Trying to get back on track but I’m scared to be hungry again. It’s true hunger. Not emotional hunger. I know the difference.

I am currently doing personal development and I quit on everything on the second day. How do I overcome that? When I say everything I mean EVERYTHING! I start eating healthy one day second day third gone, I start drinking water and do good 3rd day gone, I start taking 20 mins walks and the third day done, i mean any thing I start to do it goes down the drain on the third day. What do I do to overcome this?

SAME. for me, the 4th day is the real deal breaker. And over time I am becoming such an expert at providing beautiful excuses to self to just get over with the weight loss efforts.

Hello and thank you for your advise! I have a lil question for you: in case of taking a break, how do I do it? I mean how do I decide how many calories to have per day?

And do I go back to eating "normal" at once or do I add 100 cal every 2 to 3 weeks?
