Egyptian weightlifter Mohamed Ihab (77 Kg) won two bronze medals at the ongoing World Championships in the United States on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old, who ended seventh in the snatch lift after failing to lift 166 Kg, produced an impressive performance in the clean and jerk to win the bronze with 201 Kg. He also won the bronze medal in the total with 363 Kg.
"I kept saying to my coach in training 200, 200 I can do it," Mohamed told the Weightlifting international federation (IWF) on Wednesday.
"But he said no, wait for competition. I wanted to compete in the African Championship and again he said no, you can win a medal in the World Championships.
"I had one chance. The coach told me ‘Now, this time, go!’ My blood was hot and I did it.
"I am so happy, my mother is so happy,” he added
The Egyptian Weightlifter set national, African and Arabic records for snatch, clean & jerks and total.
Rahimov Nijat of Kazakhstan won the gold medals of Clean & jerks (207 Kg) and the total (372 Kg), and he won the silver medal in the snatch with (165 Kg).
KIM Kwang Song won the gold in the snatch with (171 kg) and the silver medals in Clean & jerks (201Kg) and total (372 kg)
