@@MrKing-231 Apparently when it comes to Al, there are very few if any other than Coolio who felt disrespected for any length of time. It was specifically over Amish Paradise, because Gangster's Paradise was the song that mattered the most to him. It was kind *of Coolio's label's fault, Al asked for permission and the label said he was good with it when they didn't even run it by him. @@aengusk3313 Hollywood producers certainly seem fixated on reboots and sequels these days. I've heard that even when good writers put forward creative ideas, the risk-averse producers reject them in favor of "tried and true" generic tropes. Essentially, if they are presented with something that will either earn $10 or $1, versus something they can guarantee will earn at least $5, they choose the $5. They are far more concerned with the money than the art. Writers that are willing to go along are finding it easier to get work over those that aren't.

And yes there's trash like Eternals, but there's also directors like Villeneuve and Nolan who've produced incredible Arthouse films with colossal budgets. There's no actual evidence to support this, but there IS circumstantial evidence. For example, it IS known that Coolio's people agreed to it, and it's highly unlikely that they didn't run it by him first. I think, the logical assumption is that the dispute was all a publicity stunt that Coolio forgot to run by Weird Al before pulling.
